People gotta chill.

Bill Murray is proud of his son. He’s not a sellout. He’s a supportive dad.

The refs didn’t screw us. We ran into a team that’s gonna sweep the tournament by double digits again.

Danny Hurley was very complimentary of our team and Brad. He wanted to get his subs in. He wasn’t Bruce Pearl.

We lost. It sucks. But, the sun will come up again tomorrow. And the portal will entertain us.

Also I’m hoping UConn wins the whole thing.
Great post

I think Edey will eat his lunch if they meet in the championship, but Clingan is surrounded by better players than Edey is.
If the refs follow their apparent rule that the tallest player doesn't get fouls called on him, he probably will.

It felt like the strategy from the start was to go at Clingan and get him in foul trouble, and never calling fouls hurt the strategy. Combine with players not hitting from 3 and being reluctant to take 3's, and there was nothing the offense could do.

The defense was solid the entire first half, and then just never came out of the locker room after the first half.

For all those who poo-poo the Big Ten Tournament, today was a good reminder of why conference tournaments are great. 67 out of 68 NCAA tournament teams end their season with a loss.

So glad we got to enjoy a three game run against conference rivals that ended with cutting of nets and a trophy presentation.

I thought it was funny when the commentators said we had one of the longest winning streaks in the nation currently. Well yeah, we won the conference tournament and there are only 8 other teams that have a current win streak…

Ty has legit won us games this year with his offensive rebounding. I wasn’t thrilled today with throwing him in there to start the second when the their big guy was on the floor but that isn’t on him. Ty will continue to grow as players do but I’d hate to see us lose a guy with the motor and heart of Ty.

Yup, part of becoming an elite national program again means that our fanbase needs to lose this perpetual-victim mentality.

Can't find myself rooting for this UConn team going forward. Hope any other team upsets them.

imo was less about execution and more about poor preparation / gameplan. They were trying to do things that have proven not to work against that team all season long.

If the strategy was to get any UConn players in foul trouble then it was a piss poor strategy given how refs were letting teams play in S16 and beyond.

We weren’t really a top ten team, yet made the Elite 8.

Your comment is correct…I agree I do not think we were top ten…

Loyalty definitely drank the koolaid…we had no PG had no big. Lost to all ranked teams…
QG and Harmon lost their shot at the end of season

BUT we we got to elite 8. Big 10 tournament champions. Domask triple double in tournament. TJ triple double in season… two big 10 first team ….I will take it
Well, I guess by definitio, you're wrong. We made the Elite 8, which by definition is . . . Top 10 in the tourney, and OBTW, we finished the regular season #10.

We had two possible ways to win:
1. Bench Clingan with fouls
2. Shoot lights out

We failed SPECTACULARLY at both.

If you take out our 1 for 19 second half start… we still only shot 33%.
Or just make a shot. ... Good grief, 1 for 19 shooting? Open 3s, bunnies, everything. It didn't require "lights out" shooting today, just maybe not blindfolded shooting.

That was nerves.

Great season. Laid an egg today and did not execute whatsoever. Thank you to the seniors, Illini legends.

Brad and co are just getting started. We will be in a final 4 soon
I think Morez will be a HUGE part of that. I can't wait!

Leave. Just . . . leave.
If you didn't feel any kind of shame watching that second half then you just aren't emotionally vested in the team.

I can say with 99% certainty that I've invested more time and money than you have in this team this year. (Didn't you skip the PSU game and then criticize others for their devastation over the loss?) I'm sure you're a fine guy and we'd probably enjoy a Peroni at the bar together. But don't come at me with that.

It was as bad a half of basketball as I've seen from an otherwise good team regardless of the competition. It moved this team below the 2001 team in my personal rankings. In the same category as 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2021. Probably at or toward the top of that group.

The season, in totality was still very good and I'll miss every player who doesn't suit up for us next year.

I can sleep knowing we lost to the better team, but man did that second half leave a bad taste in my mouth. Brad going with Ty multiple times tonight was unacceptable.

I wouldn’t even blink if Ty left bc we can’t keep playing 4 on 5 against great teams. Ty either learns how to shoot open 3s or he can’t play. Someone smarter tell me I’m wrong
I shouldn't even respond to this, and I'm really not even in the mood to respond to this, but I'll ask you a few questions. If Ty would have been able to execute at the rim and those layups tonight on a consistent basis, would you be saying the same thing? Do you think that it's impossible upperclassman Ty can develop better body control this offseason to finish at the rim? Or that it's impossible he can learn even a consistent 4-8 foot jumper? Because if Ty can even develop just that, he's a walking double-double plus defender. Yeah we're better without that.

I mean, I just don't get it sometimes. People would rather jump on a guy for what he isn't than appreciate what he is. Ty grew tremendously this year. He was one of the only reasons we even made it to the BTT title game. If you think he can improve even more as a junior, I think he's the glue guy everyone would kill to have on their team.
