Pull up his stats and you tell me how consistent he is. DJ plays hard when he wants. Groce alludes to this all the time so how should this surprise anyone. Come on down Mark Smith!!!

Groce told him to take some time and have a think. If he leaves now he would only have 1.5 or 2.0 if he leaves after the season, no?

He's a soph, so would have 2 seasons left. If he plays at mid season then he'd only be able to use 1/2 of one of those seasons. Question is, can he get enrolled somewhere else in time to be eligible midyear next season?

How disappointing. Enjoyed watching him play when he decided to play and Groce decided to put him on the floor. Tough on a player to always be ready and tough on a coach to figure out when the player is ready.

It seems to me that you are deaf when listening to Groce. He consistently says the way you practice determines if and how much you play. "Players play players." DJ has never brought it consistently. He has only to blame but himself.

Coaches recruit players....

He was that way in high school too, which is why I preferred a guy like Morrow, but he has the talent when he decides to play.

The ascension of Kipper = departure of DJW? I hope not, but I am not optimistic.

Several years back Crandall Head and Bertrand were competing for minutes and then Bertrand had a breakout game against mizzou. He went 9/9 in the game or something. Crandall saw the writing on the wall and transferred mid season.

This isn't exactly the same but.....

I Like DJ and see potential with his length and size especially for next year. If he does leave it would be a bad sign. Perhaps he sees what I see: a lot of bad signs in Illinois basketball. Have their been good ones? Sure, a few. Do they outweigh the bad? Meanwhile, Whitman watches the Mike Thomas inspired Groce show that is Fighting Illini basketball trudge along.

I imagine that regardless of what's going on with DJ that's it's not good for team chemistry.

Now that the Simeon pipeline appears to be drying up, it's time for Ford to getting pumping on that Canada one and oh don't forget Milwaukee too!!

Consistency has remained a major problem throughout DJW's entire career, including HS, but as I said in previous post, it has definitely looked for a while that he was not getting the opportunities either for whatever reason.

Does this mean that with Nunn's ship still open and possibly 1 more attrition that we could end up with an 8 man '017 class??
