Ok. We've got a really good RB. We've got a QB who is a tough runner and not that good of a passer. So I've got an idea. Let's pass pass pass. Let's pass 7 straight times in the first half, with the 7th being a pick (that happened). Let's pop a run for 6 yds on first down and then pass pass punt. Let's pass and then run for 5 or 6 and then pass punt. If you run you move the chains, you run the clock, and then you can mix in some pass, some play action etc. or you can just pass pass pass with a team that's a bad passing team but could be a decent running team.

It also could be that the coaches were trying to send a message to the team by having them keep after the other team and still compete, and when you are down by a bunch, that often results in getting pass happy. I don't think this game is going to dictate how we run our offense going forward.
Easy to get down after a beating like this but I think it's a good growth opportunity. If nothing else, teaches the young guys that they still have a lot of work to do to get where they want to be.

Those 7 straight passes were at 6-2. I don't care about the last quarter and a half, sure, pass when you're down 24. But before that we blew our chance to compete in this game by deciding not to run with a good running QB and RB, but instead to pass with a bad passing QB.
Agreed. And this is perhaps the best possible time to have an open date on the schedule.
