I praise Kansas and Toledo and they make look not that bright (eyeroll emoji).

This post may or may not have aged badly. We’ll find out soon enough.
I think they are almost a lock for bowl game now, but we will learn more about Colorado the next two weeks (and how they react after losing). They have not exactly impressed the last two weeks. A loss tonight would have probably led to the wheels falling off with the tough next 2 weeks.

Was at Purdue Cuse game tonight. Neither team was very physical. HUD Card pretty good though, but Cuse attacked Purdue defense with tons of sideline fade routes. Shraeder carried Syracuse, not much else after him. Purdue is quite beatable.

EIU defeated ISU 14-13 in the 111th Mid-American Classic today. It is the Panthers' first win over the Redbirds since 2016 and their first win over their rivals in Charleston since 2013. Game basically swung on late TDs scored by each team. ISU scored a rushing TD with 4 minutes to go but the PAT failed so the score was 13-7. EIU drove down the field with QB Pierce Holley throwing a 25 yard TD pass to Justin Thomas with 30 seconds to go. The PAT was good and that was it.

The Panthers improve to 2-1 on the season and return to action next Saturday against McNeese. Kick-off is set for 2:00 PM and the game will air on ESPN+.

ISU falls to 2-1 on the season and return to action next Saturday against Lindenwood. Kick-off is set for Noon and the game will air on ESPN+
GO PANTHERS!! So says my wife, an EIU alumna.

Colorado State got control of the game by aggressively going after Sanders sending extra guys at him multiple times keeping him from getting in a rhythm. So on Colorados last drive they go to a minimal pass rush and zone. Sanders picked them apart. I can't believe someone who is getting paid is making that decision which usually means the quarterback is going to have all kinds of time to find someone open. An average qb will thrive in that situation let alone someone with the talent of Sanders. Even the best dbacks can only cover somebody for so long. I recall Illinois losing a game not to long ago using the same tactics at the end of the game. I also feel CSU should have went for two in the overtime. I thought for most coaches the thinking was to go for two and the win when you are on the road.

To add to reasons to go for two in that situation: CSU leading pass rusher was ejected in the previous drive. There was little thought that they would stop Colorado on next drive.

In a sport seemingly desperate to embrace Deion the media love is now irrational. Colorado being mentioned as a playoff team?

I am not a hater. I like Deion’s vibe at Colorado. It’s a curious story. Regardless - let’s put it in perspective - they are not a playoff team.

Sure. They are still undefeated, so they are still in the playoff race.

Though next Sunday the pundits talk will be if they make a bowl game. Can't see them beating either Oregon or USC.

I watched the hit in real time and on replay. I don’t think it was as dirty as people are making it to be. If you watch the safety his head is turned and probably didn’t realize the ball wasn’t close until after the hit. The 15 yard penalty was the right call. If he wanted to do a dirty hit he would have gone for the head

I also think the refs allowing Sanders to get in the safety’s face should have been called for unsportsmanlike conduct

Just wondering what other people’s take on this hit?

Pretty much agreed with how you saw it. He didn't launch into Hunter at all, let alone at the head. It was a bad hit, but dirty seems a little excessive.

I was/am fine with no flag on Sanders. I can see the argument for a flag, but I'm not torn up that there wasn't one.
