I've had enough of this Deion love fest crap.
I'm not a fan of his style (nor all the media attention), but it's hard to argue with the results, from his days at Florida State, to his career in the NFL, to his brief tenure at JSU, although as another posted pointed out that it was a little disingenuous when he left there for Boulder - but pretty much anyone would given the difference in paychecks.

If they get blown out by USC, things will come back down to earth a bit.
They almost certainly will. I think the 35-0 halftime score at Oregon exposed them as not ready for Prime time. Casual fans may have been caught up in the hype, but serious fans of college football and the betting sites, had them in the 5-7 win range, which I think they're on track to do. That's still a big improvement from last year, and a heck of a fast rebuild.

I'm not convinced they would compete at a CFP level under the current 4 team format, but we're leaving that world and going to a 12 team format, which will be much more forgiving to that next tier of teams. I like their chances of getting there in a couple more seasons, although that's still a big ask given where they started.

I don't even get annoyed by Deion and actually find him kind of entertaining ... I'm sick of the media's fixation with him! Although, I get that it's a business and that man/the Buffs are quite simply selling right now.

USC/Colorado, at least in this case, makes sense, especially since it's their Big Noonish kickoff game. The only other game airing on regular Fox on Saturday is Michigan/Nebraska and I'd be shocked if they would have went there.

Credit where credit is due - this is marvelous shade:

“James Franklin said the team wasn’t blasting music at practice today like they usually do because he wanted them prepared for the environment at Northwestern.”

Ironically, I thought I saw somewhere that Nebraska/Michigan was at one point going to be Big Noon Kickoff ... but there is a lot of stuff out there on the internet. The remaining Big Ten games that would have the best chance are probably...

Saturday 10/14: Ohio State at Purdue (unlikely) ... Colorado plays on a Friday, but I would be shocked if they didn't pick Oregon/Washington or even go camp out at USC/Notre Dame without broadcast rights again, lol.

Saturday 10/21: Penn State at Ohio State (pretty good chance) ... CU bye week. There are some really good Pac-12 games, including Utah/USC and WSU/Oregon, but I have to figure OSU/PSU is about as good as it gets for ratings, and both teams will likely be top 10 or even top 5.

Saturday 10/28: Nothing great (unlikely) ... maybe Ohio State at Wisconsin?? I have to figure Oklahoma at Kansas and Oregon at Utah are way better. Hell, maybe they'll go show a semi-full Rose Bowl for Colorado at UCLA if the magic hasn't worn off yet.

Saturday 11/4: Penn State at Maryland? (decent chance) ... if they want to return to Big Ten Country, this one could be a good game. However, I think Washington/USC is a way better game, and honestly I bet they use the excuse to go back to Boulder and watch two potential Cinderella Stories - Oregon State and Colorado.

Saturday 11/11: Michigan at Penn State (excellent chance). If both are undefeated, I say this is a shoe-in.
Then again, you have Utah at Washington and and USC at Oregon this week, so I think the Pac-12 gets it. I would THINK they wouldn't go to Arizona at Colorado, but who the hell knows? Lol.

Saturday 11/18: Illinois at Iowa - BATTLE FOR THE WEST. Lol, probably not. If Maryland were to knock off PSU and Michigan were still undefeated, I think Michigan at Maryland would have a decent chance. Colorado plays on a Friday again, but there is Washington/Oregon State and and UCLA at USC ... if UCLA is ranked again, they probably go to USC.

Saturday 11/25: Already confirmed for Michigan/OSU.

Would any of us really be shocked if they went back to Boulder almost every one of these weeks and just broadcasted the pregame show there during Colorado's bye week, though? :ROFLMAO:

Prime went to Colorado to get his sons national exposure. They are good enough to play on many colllege teams, but Dion wanted to be sure they started and get noticed, otherwise he would have stayed where he was. Wouldnt surprise me at all if when their college days are over, his coaching days at Colorado are over.

it would not surprise me one bit if he eventually ended up coaching in the SEC or B1G.
I dont think Colorado is at the top rung of his ladder. There are much easier places to recruit at than Boulder.
