We will also be there.

I think without the ticket games NU played last time (more on that below) and if both teams continue a somewhat similar trajectory until then, I think it will be a much, much more pro-Illini crowd than in 2010.
Also, while I think 50/50 is probably correct for the 2010 game, two things are worth remembering for other fans who were not there (I was, and I assume you were!).
1. It was pretty cold, and a lot of Illini fans were in navy. When you analyze a brighter photo of the crowd that day, you actually notice slivers of orange or orange stocking hats on fans that your eye might initially assume were in dark Northwestern colors.
2. Northwestern did EVERYTHING possible to make that a pro-NU crowd. Multiple factors played into this:
(A) IIRC (I was in college and went with my family, and my dad bought the tickets), it was not quite as easy to get tickets on StubHub back then. I could be wrong on this, but it does not
really matter either way.
(B) Since it was SUCH a novelty compared to their later games there vs. Purdue in 2021 or Iowa last year, tickets were actually in really high demand and quite expensive. As a reminder to everyone, College Gameday was onsite, and the idea of playing at Wrigley was still incredibly new and exciting.
(C) Since it was a Northwestern home game, they were only on the hook to give Illinois 3,000 tickets. So, theoretically, the crowd would have started at a baseline of 7.5% Illinois fans, haha.
(D) Most importantly, Northwestern actually made it so the ONLY way you could get tickets to that game beyond getting your 3,000 from the DIA was to either buy a Northwestern season ticket or find one (for a lot of money) on the secondary market.
And despite all of that, Illinois had about half the crowd...
... and ALL of the rooftop seats.
Hilarious dichotomy of the colors in that photo behind the NU student section.
TL;DR
1. I think Wrigley will be pretty damn orange this November.
2. I encourage anyone on the fence to go. Partying in Wrigleyville and going to watch the Illini smoke the Kitty Cats at Wrigley?!?! Cannot beat that.
