What an atmosphere. Those fans were passionate. And we're still debating whether fans should be allowed to stand.

Wild take only 3 BT teams get into CFP in your scenario where a BT team is 10-2 with two losses to the #1 and #2 teams in the country. How many 9-3 SEC teams you letting in over that 10-2 BT team?
Let’s eliminate LSU and Tennessee as both will most likely have 3-4 loses. For us to have a chance we do. Like you point out, have a few of the 7 SEC schools who have one loss or TAMU undefeated lose 3 games. Unless these teams crash and burn, TAMU, Bama, GA are close to locks. Vandy and Ole Miss need to have no less than 2 loses. That IU loss will hurt us once we get to the end of the season. But next week is huge for us. We need to have a decisive win against Washington to move the needle. There maybe a small window still but we need teams above us in the SEC to lose and lose often LOL

Some will say all of the sec teams should be in over a 10-2 big 10 team. Kentucky took Texas to OT after all. Even the wildcats deserve consideration with the L

Remember the assumption to the question is the Illini go 10-2. It’s close to impossible for 5 SEC schools to go 10-2 or better. If a FIFTH 9-3 SEC school gets in over a FOURTH BT school who only lost to #1 and #2 the BT commish will leave the NCAA the next day.

The BT has 3 out of the last 4 national championship teams. SEC has zero. And we get short changed on teams? I don’t see it happening.

But one of those loses by us was by 53 points. That has a lot of weight against us. I can see the SEC having 5 teams with 2 loses or less. Even if one of the SEC teams gets a third loss in the SEC Championship game, that will weight more than what our resume will look like. Biases will prevail as always

I’m just considering a 9-3 team not a 10-3. Obviously, SEC championship game team is getting in.

What I’m taking from this conversation is that I’m glad you aren’t the BT commissioner 😂

We can both agree hopefully the Illini win Saturday so we can continue the conversation!

Though kind of cocky for such a close game

It's a rivalry game so I'm fine with it. This is the first non-covid year they've played the game back on one of the school's campuses since they had played it in Arlington, TX previously. And while they will meet again next year in College Station, they're not protected opponents under the SEC's scheduling going forward.

Let's assume TAMU, Bama, and UGA are in. Even assume Ole Miss makes it to 10-2. Team number 5 is where you run into problems These are the remaining 1 and 2 loss teams left:

Vanderbilt - would need to win 2/3 vs Mizzou, Texas, Tennessee.

Mizzou - would need to win 2/3 vs Vandy, TAMU, and Oklahoma.

Oklahoma, would need to win 4/5 vs Ole Miss, Tennessee, Bama, Mizzou, and LSU.

Texas, would need to run the table including games against Vandy, UGA, and TAMU.

LSU, would need to run the table including games against Bama and Oklahoma.

Tennessee, would need to run the table including games against Oklahoma and Vandy.

Looking at that, really the only two that seem realistic are Mizzou and Vandy. They play each other next week, so one of them is getting to 2 losses at that point. Then they both have some tough games left. There also 100% will be upsets. I don't really think 5 SEC teams with 10-2 records is likely at all. FWIW KFord projected wins for all teams outside that top 4 are less than 9.

Well, we are now playing for 1 in 11 spots as ND will get a bid thanks to last night an a fairly easy schedule left outside of Navy. It would be great to have Navy beat the Golden Domers and knock them out.

I know it's DIII, but dang...

Milton, MA – The Curry Football team took down Nichols in record fashion on Saturday, beating the Bison 71-27. The Colonels are now 5-1 on the season, and 3-0 in CNE play, while the Bison are 2-4 and 2-1.

The game was all about one player, with that player being Curry running back Montie Quinn. The All-American ran for an NCAA record 522 yards, and a program record seven touchdowns, all on just 20 carries. The senior had eight rushes of over 25 yards, including touchdown runs of 85, 84, 76, 64, 58, and 30 yards. His other TD was a two-yard run, which was set up by a 43 yard run two plays earlier.

That's incredible. That kid's almost twice the running back Al Bundy was. There is no way he's not telling his grandkids about this every day for the rest of his life

Pfft. Some DIII guy will never compare to the 1966 All-City running back who once scored 4 touchdowns in the city Championship game for Polk High, including a game winning TD against his old nemesis Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.
