Wisconsin @Minn is a sneaky hard game. Badgers have been red hot from 3 lately. Hopefully they go cold in the Barn.

Of course we will still need to hold serve in Evanston. Guessing we will get NU’s best shot after the whipping we gave them in Champaign.

Hello Dr. Chandra...............There's been a lot going on with the Fighting Illini lately....I have some questions.......

hal02.jpg

Good morning Hal....Yes , the Illini have been in the news a lot in the last month or so.........What's on your mind...............

hal01.jpg

Well Dr. Chandra , the situation with TSJ has given me some corruption in my upper memory , as those banks of memory remember what a fine upstanding young man TSJ is.....There's no doubt in my mind that he is innocent of all charges , and I was so glad that he received a positive decision regarding the TRO............

hal02.jpg

Yes Hal , that was an unexpected decision to say the least and I so enjoyed him being reinstated back to the team and eligble to play.........And play he did............he had a great game back after missing 6 games.......

hal01.jpg

yes he did , and I swear I heard his bloodcurdilling scream after the thunder dunk all the way up here in space..........

My question is , why do human being's jump the gun on alleged activities and indict another human being before the facts are disclosed ??......Whatever happened to the " innocent until proven guilty " theory that has been the basis of judicial law since the inception of the Bill of Rights when the country was founded....??......

hal02.jpg

Well Hal , that's a very good question....Do you have any idea's why ??........

hal01.jpg

yes I do Dr. Chandra .......I think the collapse of the judicial system has to lay at the feet of that vile inbred human being we all call Satan......have you looked at him lately ????.......fat , stiff spinal frame and now supporting an ugly beard.......Yuck.......

hal02.jpg

Hal , I think you're on to something.......Maybe Satan has tape recorded the DA out in Kansas and has her under his control in a blackmailing scenario............It's par for the course with his checkered past of wrongdoing's.........

hal01.jpg

Dr. Chandra , will I dream about TSJ being acquitted of all charges.....??.....

hal02.jpg

Hal , I hope you do.....I really really do.............................

hal03.jpg

What's up Chandra ??..........................

Hal is going to dream about TSJ being found not guilty of all charges................

Hey , I already had that dream........

So have I...........

Me too..................me too...................

I want to say Houston will struggle there. Iowa state got relentlessly pounded in that game and was ground to a nub. BYU’s arena is huge and loud. BYU have a solid team this year.
This brings back memories of my days at the U of Arizona. At every opportunity, I would attend Wildcat games in the old Bear Down Gym. That facility had permanent seating for about 500 in an upper deck along each side of about 4 rows of bench seats. The primary purpose of the facility was PE and accommodated three full courts when playing diagonally. But for games, bleachers were installed under the permanent balcony seats along the side and each at each end to the point of allowing 3000+ fans to witness the Cats tangle with BYU, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, and ASU....all of which had facilities that seated 8-12000 fans. Needless to say, the Cats rested firmly at the bottom of what was otherwise a pretty competitive WAC conference. I never dreamed that Arizona would ever compete with the likes of my beloved Fighting Illini in a facility filled with 16000 screaming/crazy fans.

Then, lo and behold, Arizona hired Fred Snowden and then Lute Olsen while building a new facility called the McHale Center...named after "Pop McHale" who was a somewhat successful coach back in the day. Way back. I was familiar with the name as there was an endowed scholarship called the McHale Scholarship which was awarded to athletes who were not on athletic scholarship. It was somewhat of an academic award granting financial aid to athletes otherwise devoid of financial aid. I was one of 5 who shared the $4000 that year which covered about half of out of state tuition. My parents were somewhat dismayed as I had several other options in basketball that would have relieved any financial burden on them, but my decision was based upon my view that I could not guard Walt Frazier but that I thought I might one day be able to beat Arnie.

Instead, my dream led my trying to compete against Johnny Miller of BYU and a half dozen other All-Americans that populated the WAC conference back in the day when that conference was the most competitive in college golf...and most would say fool's gold at best. It also led to my watching the Cats compete in Bear Down Gym against strong BYU teams and wanting to take the floor and help them compete....which was never to be. But I will always remember those days vividly...but ultimately with no regrets about the path not taken. And, eventually, I found out no one could guard Walt Frazier.

Just a random thought for those (both here and nationally) who keep saying the Big Ten "is down." Uh, how do you even judge that? Teams in the top 25? May I remind you that this was the top 25 before we had everyone but Michigan ( ) lose before the Second Weekend in 2021?!

#2 Illinois: 1-seed that lost in the Second Round
#4 Michigan: 1-seed that lost in the Elite Eight
#7 Ohio State: 2-seed that lost in the First Round
#8 Iowa: 2-seed that lost in the Second Round
#20 Purdue: 4-seed that lost in the First Round

Compare that to 2005 where everybody said how down the conference was all year because we only had three teams ranked...

#1 Illinois: 1-seed that made it to the National Championship
#15 Michigan State: 5-seed that lost in the Final Four
#20 Wisconsin: 6-seed that lost in the Elite Eight

This year actually seems more like 2005 to me ... Purdue, Illinois and Wisconsin all look like they could make noise in the Tournament, and MSU could too if they get some consistency. Personally, I think the top of the conference is actually up, and we just have fewer good teams in the middle.

I really want the B1G to get the March monkey off its back finally before all those PAC teams join. Also a plus to do it with Michigan, Indiana and Iowa watching from the sidelines.
You must be a better person than me. Lol.

I know what you’re talking about; with your pro-bigten sentiment. It at least makes sense to me on some level. In the past, I might have been inclined to think like that…But not this year. This year I just see Orange. Greed is good. (If we strike a blow for the Bigten that’s a nice consolation prize… I guess.)

I feel like this time WE REALLY ARE built for March with this team. I like our maturity; and all the weapons we have. Our length, rebounding, and defense will keep us in most games…plus we know how to hang around and play tough & smart down the stretch. Our bench length just went from 6-8 men by bringing back our All-American…I like our chances.

I think we might do it this year. If not, the Elite 8 or the Final Four would be A-okay.
But this team really feels like it COULD win the whole damn thing.

One game, one win at a time

Mn is cold as ice. Terrible shooting team.
Just tuned in and been watching for 18 min. hoping Minny could pull the upset at home. Instead, I am wondering if the Gophers played ANY Div. 1 teams in those 12 wins? With any defensive pressure, they cannot make an entry pass, there is little moving and screening, and they can't put the ball inside the rim let alone in the net. Pretty sad for a B1G team. We have seen Garcia as a B1G force, but any team can stop 1 guy and that seems to stop the Gophers easily. Would really like that program to be competitive, but they have not been for some time...too much time. Can we take someone else's dates in the barn and play them 5-7 times?
