Point is I laugh at posters who say so-and-so team is terrible and WE could/should never lose to them. The fact is that any team is beatable when their opponent is throwing in threes from multiple sources and the basket shrinks for the higher rated one. We should never lose sight of that. If you watched any of that IU/PSU game, it should make any Illini fan leary of playing IU at home. The Hoosiers were having their way and seemingly scoring at will....when all of a sudden, the basketball gods decided they were not going to win today.

That is why the B1G schedule is seemingly interminable and so fatiguing....as well as unpredictable. I see posts saying the Illini should win Sun. because Nebraska is a poor road team. But saying that is folly. Neb. has three terrific shooters and a smart, tough, skilled big. To assure an Illini win, our guys have to focus and execute in all the details...and still might get beat if Husker shots are falling...as Purdue found out.

Sure, smart money will be on the Illini at home...but smart fans will be rooting like banshees to try to lift this Illini team to an inspired performance. That is what it takes, not trash talk...which is a perfect adjective because that is where it belongs.

Saw the very end of Geoge Mason vs UMass (not sure why, but I did). GM down 2 with 11 seconds, get.the ball stolen then sreals it back and fires it to a guy who puts in a good layup to tie with 1.6 seconds. Great play.

UMass inbounds... And a George Mason player just fouls him. 80 feet from the basket in a tie game with 1 second left. Like he forgot they were tied. UMass sinks a free throw and they win. Just heartbreaking for GM. I was dumfounded. Feel so bad for that kid who fouled him.

Couldn’t agree more. NW when lost to them Domask almost won the game on their floor. Hope ZMn wins. Going back to the IU game. They went away from Ware down low. First half he torched PSU. Wasabi played a good second half.

Agree. People who think the Illini are going to go 9 - 1 their last ten games are pretty optimistic

Road games with MichSt, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
On the road in the Big 10, the second you do not play to your potential, you lose.

Northwestern could be a second weekend team depending on the draw. Always seems like teams that can shoot are tough outs in the NCAAT.
