Don't ever trust ChatGPT for facts, it doesn't know.

Good to know! Yeah would have been a bit more thorough if I had more time. I suppose that's what the guy who got tricked by the "As good as the SEC is this year, their combined conference record is .500" said too. I'll be a little more thorough on sports reference next time.

Interesting none-the-less, he's really cruising up the leaderboards, and passing some hall of famers in the process. He passed Coach K on Monday, and will pass Bob Knight this month.

Our domination of Mizzou inspired them to dominate the SEC. I like it for our NET sake lol
Although even at 12-3 and 2-0 in the SEC Missouri is only 69 in Net ranking, so have a long way to go to for us to get a quad 1 win (<50 on a neutral)

Ohio State leads at Oregon by 5 at the half. OSU currently 2-0 on the road in the B1G, and 0-2 at home.
They have only lost to unranked teams once so far, which was at Pittsburgh.

The Fears stuff is legitimately gross. I’m so over it and i don’t know why the Big Ten puts up with it

You answered your own question, historically speaking anyway.

As much as I respect his basketball acumen, I'm equally over the Izzo show / preferential treatment he gets. The T was nice.

Over lunchtime, I went on a bit of a fishing expedition about George Ivory, the Head Coach of Mississippi Valley State, and the former Head Coach at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Coach Ivory has been the Head Coach of MVS since 2022, where his overall record with the team is 10-98, winning just under 10% of his coached games. By the end of the month, he'll likely have more losses at MVS than Brad Underwood has had at Illinois in his entire tenure. His entire career Head Coaching record is 150-367, winning just 29% of his games.

I used ChatGPT to scrape together a list of the most losses all time for Head Coaches in CBB, and if ChatGPT is correct, Coach Ivory is nipping at the heals of losing greatness:

Biggest "Losers" of All Time:
1. Cliff Ellis - 848-559
2. Greg Kampe - 708-535
3. Bob Huggins - 935-414
4. Jim Boeheim - 1,015-371
5. Bob Knight - 902-371
6. Mike Krzyzewski - 1,202-368
7. George Ivory - 150-367

Either it's a crazy coincidence I came across this or ChatGPT is wrong, but if the former, then we're on the eve of greatness of Coach Ivory tying Coach K's place for 6th place. By the end of the year, he'll almost certainly be the 4th biggest loser, and if he keeps his job for 2 more seasons, he'll have a solid spot at 3rd.

This leads to my question: what exactly is going on at MVS and with Coach Ivory? Since he took over as head coach in 2022, he hasn’t cracked a 357th ranking on KenPom. Is there any hope that he’s going to turn the program around? Can we get this man some NIL? If it’s a money issue, what a story it would be if he got some kind of cash injection and turned MVS around.

Hope someone enjoys reading this on a Friday afternoon. I’d appreciate any corrections if there are mistakes, and I’d also be interested in any additional information about Coach Ivory if anyone has it.

Obligatory "not sure if this is the right forum to post this in..."
Sidebars like this keep the forum fun, thanks. Do you know what kind of cottage cheese he prefers?

While ChatGPT may be crap at pulling accurate stats, I feel like it did give a good answer for this question! I agree enough with it that I'll simply copy-paste:

George Ivory feels like a no-nonsense, old-school cottage cheese guy:
  • Full-fat, small curd
  • Plain — absolutely nothing flavored
  • Probably something classic like Daisy or Breakstone’s
  • Eaten with a spoon, no fruit, no honey, no “protein bowl” nonsense
The vibe is very much: “This isn’t for enjoyment, it’s fuel.”

16-0 Miami OH leads Toledo late in the first half. The RedHawks are favored in every remaining game except 1 right now.

Minny just lost at home in OT to USC to move to 3-2 in the BT so we've moved ahead of them in the current standings FWLIW tied for 5th with IU

Neither team looked particularly good to me, better than Rutgers & PSU I guess

The best way I can describe Cade Tyson is if Klay Thompson and Joe Harris were trapped inside Luke Goode’s body.

So deceiving in how he looks and moves but he will burn you up in a hurry with a combination of burying contested 3s and next thing you know he is 12-14 from the line too.

A cry for help.
I feel I'm spiraling out of control. Just 10 days ago, I rooted for IU's football team to beat Alabama. This morning I'm going to root for their basketball team to beat Nebraska. I fear if I don't get help soon, I'll root for them to beat Miami. Please don't hate me. I'm scared and confused.
Are there others out there like me? Maybe we could form a support group to get me thru this?

Shut off the TV.
Set down the remote.
Slowly walk to the beer fridge and fill both hands.
Pull up the internet and watch the 1989 Nick Anderson game, immediatey followed by the 2013 Tyler Griffey game.
Repeat as needed.

I think Nebby loses. Their fans are moronic (not talking about the guy on this board). They've been basement of the big ten for years and think they'll just stroll into Michigan 20-0.

Almost every P4 game for them has been decided by 3 points or fewer.

I know it’s an early tip and everyone is likely still hungover from the football game last night, but Assembly Hall is dead for a top 10 opponent.

If Nebraska finds their shooting I think they blow out the Hoosiers. Better look out for demogorgans because we are in the upside down.

Edit: this take didn’t age well. Hoosiers looking legit.
