While we are waiting, here is the clip of Eddie Johnson taking it to Michigan State and Magic Johnson on this day in 1979. I was 7 and at the game with my dad up in the second row of C section, almost mid-court. Enjoy
My senior year at UIUC. Watched game at my boss' house because he had a nice big color TV (worked my way through school). Never imagined after that game the season would go straight into the tank.

Then never thought we'd suffer through the Groce years either, that was even worse except for his first season.

Real glad we now have a team we can really be proud of win or lose and a coach who can recruit and actually knows a little coaching.

Watching ASU at UW. Hec-Ed is half empty. Its snowing in Seattle but that would not matter. Their students are back. They just don’t care about hoops.

Anyone out there wanting to brigade Husky Basketball when Illinois is in Seattle, tickets should be really easy to come by. They never sell out MBB.

Utah beating UCLA by 50.

FIFTY?!
Yeah. Unbelieveable. The UCLA-Utes game was on the TV next to the Illini game in the bar tonight. I took this picture with under a minute remaining after UCLA had climbed to within 48. I don't watch a great deal of college ball anymore but the last time I recall a (usually credible) Power Conference program beaten this badly was the Matt Doherty-coached Tar Heels in 2003, losing by 40 at Maryland.

I can't recall seeing a team from a program like UCLA's down 50 in a game. Ever. WTH is going on with Cronin and his team?

Mulcahy minutes have been on the decline at Washington… Having a rough go at it… Grass isn’t always greener…

Not having a season more than a couple games over .500 or an NCAA tourney appearance since the 2018-19 season will do that to a program.
Really? How many B1G fan bases quit showing up for a .500 season? Its only a 10,000 fieldhouse style stadium. Other than Northwestern, who can’t fill at least 8,000 if not 10,000?

This isnt just a Washington problem either. Oregon is very poor attendance this year.

Let’s go to Eugene then too!

FAU just barely avoids another upset. Wild finish in that one.
I watched the first half of that game. FAU was up but let Tulane get back into it. They weren’t guarding that well. Announcers said FAU is playing way more selfishly this year. Last year players didn’t care about stats but this year they’re taking earlier shots as more players are trying to get theirs. They don’t look remotely like the tough team that played Illinois.

FAU will be fine IMO. It's going to take some time figuring out how to play in a better conference. Still think they will win the AAC with how they can score.
