It is interesting how Edey is flying up draft boards - it makes me wonder what the difference is between how the NBA looks at Kofi vs. Edey now. They have similar dominate stats in college, Kofi is a better athlete, can really run the floor, but Edey being a better FT shooter is one key difference and he has 4 inches of height on Kofi.

At the time I thought given Kofi's age and domination in college there was nothing he could do in his senior year to improve his draft stock, but I think Edey is proving me wrong. Maybe if Kofi had come back for his senior year and improved his FT shooting to over 70% (he did improve significantly his Jr. year to 66%, so not impossible) showed a 10 foot jumper (which he was improving as well), he could have been a first round pick and gotten a guaranteed contract.

I would definitely call Maryland, PSU, Minnesota, Rutgers, and Indiana "truly awful". Then add Iowa and Michigan as just "bad".
I would categorize truly awful as a Quad 4 game, of which there will be none in the B1G this season unless PSU or Maryland falls apart. The lowest rated team by NET rankings is 125 (PSU), while every other conference has at least one team that is below the Q4 threshold (Louisville, DePaul, Oregon State, West Virginia, Vandy). The benefit of that is there are no truly awful losses available on the schedule.

Also, Minnesota is currently tied for 2nd in the B1G by record, and 7th or 8th by metrics.

If I remember the rules, cannot do that at the time of shooting. You can put your arms up, but before the act of shooting. Little to no movement and no talking during the act. I thought that was the rule and still is. If not, it would be mayhem during FT’s.
The stunt that seems to work a lot is to have your arms up, then start to bring them down just as the shooter is about to release. I swear, when guys do that the shot is missed half the time.

Swap Minnesota with Michigan and I agree. I feel like the jury is still out on Rutgers, but the others are certainly in a hole and searching for a ladder.

Outside the B1G, I'm really interested to see how Houston handles the Big 12. They have been so dominant over the past couple years, but it's a different challenge having to play 3, 4, or 5+ difficult games in a row.

They are definitely a really good team, but I'm interested to see if they take some lumps in a tougher conference and maybe drop a couple seed lines.
I've said the same regarding Gonzaga for years. A couple of big OOC wins are remembered, but I want to see them after 20 games when at least 15-16 are games against a team that can beat you.

Big game for B1G supremacy tonight, as Wisconsin plays at Ohio State. Considering Wisky already won at MSU, don't play at Illinois and won't play at Purdue until the last game of the season, this will be their toughest game remaining until their last game of the season. (They do play at Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Rutgers, Penn State, and Indiana)

Big chance of a couple more top 10 teams going down tonight:

UNC @ NC ST (Think NCST wins)
OK @ TCU (think TCU wins)
UCONN @ XAVIER (UConn holds on)
TENNESSEE @ MISS ST (Tennessee wins)

d j bald head ref with another inept call at the end of nu psu game
...clearly was NOT a lane violation , but not reviewable.....he's absolutely the worst ref I have ever seen.....
He really really is..
JMHO
I was just going to post this. What a clown, totally blew the call. He was watching the shooter and probably never saw the ball hit the rim.

It was a well-executed play by Penn State.

I hope he has tomorrow off!

If you look at the replay d j bald head ref was talking to a psu player at the time the ball hit the rim and then he called the lane violation without a clear look at where the ft shooters feet were....
He is an embarrassment to the game and other refs....
