That Rutgers D is going to be tough. SPU shooting sub 25%, and Rutgers is gonna cover 15.5 easily. We’re going to have our work cut out for us on offense

You realize that SPU ain’t really a world beater either, there record of 1-4(1-3 home) speaks volumes.

Don't know how closely everyone else has followed Oakland this year but Townsend & Watts have really been putting it together. Some fun stats..

Oakland led against OSU for 28 minutes, was within 2 possessions or leading for 38 minutes. Largest lead or deficit was 7. Lost by 6.

Led or were within 2 possessions of Drake for 36 minutes. Largest lead by 8 points. Biggest deficit 9 points. Lost by 8.

Led Xavier for about 37 minute. ,largest lead 8 points, never went down more than 3. won by 2.

Vs. Illinois, they led for 16 minutes, were up by as many as 6 points, they were within 2 possessions or leading for 35 minutes. Biggest deficit 16 points. Lost by 11.

Comparing how we performed to the other power 5's & potential MvC champ, think we did okay objectively.

Marquette imo, may be the second best team in the country, if not the best.

All things considered, we've probably played right at expectations this year. It's frustrating seeing all of these marquee non-conference games during feast week and be anxious that we haven't done enough yet, but we've played our schedule to expectations.

Next few weeks will tell us a lot about this team, and I think we are going to be very happy come Xmas. Go illini.

Kentucky is absolutely waxing Miami right now. I expect the final margin to be closer but this has gotten ugly.

So this isn’t a commentary on who will be better long term and who will make more money playing basketball, but how long will it take Cal to admit that right now Reed Shepard is better than DJ Wagner?

For those interested, here is the slate of the early Big Ten games this year before we all resume non-conference play:

Friday 12/1
Maryland at Indiana - 6:00 pm on BTN
#1 Purdue at Northwestern - 8:00 pm on BTN

Saturday 12/2
#24 Illinois at Rutgers - 3:00 pm on BTN

Sunday 12/3
Minnesota at Ohio State - 5:30 pm on BTN

Monday 12/4
Iowa at #1 Purdue - 6:00 pm on BTN

Tuesday 12/5
Wisconsin at Michigan State - 6:00 pm on Peacock
Indiana at Michigan - 8:00 pm on Peacock

Wednesday 12/6
Penn State at Maryland - 6:00 pm on BTN
Nebraska at Minnesota - 8:00 pm on BTN

Saturday 12/9
Ohio State at Penn State - 5:00 pm on BTN

Sunday 12/10
Michigan at Iowa - 3:30 pm on BTN
Michigan State at Nebraska - 5:30 pm on BTN

It will be really interesting to see what the middle of the conference standings looks like after all of these games. Games like Wisconsin at MSU, Indiana at Michigan, OSU at PSU, Michigan at Iowa, MSU at Nebraska, etc. might represent crucial opportunities for some teams to prove they are better than expected and gain some momentum.

I'm just looking at the box score, but UNC seems to be playing nearly flawless basketball in the first half.

14/14 FT's. Including 7/7 from Bacot. (Can you imagine any Illini, let alone a big, doing that in a game?)

Only 4 turnovers.

57% shooting.
