Bruce Willis Wtf GIF
Get over it. We'd benefit SIGNIFICANTLY, which is more important. Plus, my disdain for Izzo is right on part with my disdain for IU.

They’re more sane.

But this has been a pretty disappointing year overall.

They have defensive personnel issues, but I’ve never seen a team consistently mess up basic communication so much
This year has to be a huge letdown for them. They have a generational talent at pg as a senior, along with another former all-american senior and another 4 year starter who's been a prolific shooter.. and they bring an overseas pro off the bench. Being elite is really, really hard to achieve. I think I would take a leave of absence from this site if roles were reversed.

Can’t lie, he’s been pretty darn successful with his current roster building.

He has. But I think the last two years given TKR and smith, you’d expect more.

Tournament success this year would erase all that though.

Would have been much better off getting a dynamic wing instead of the big money paid to cluff and Mayer IMO

FYI — the way to avoid that 4seed if MSU beats IU would be to hope Nebby loses to Iowa AND UCLA.

This would be the bracket in that scenario:

Indiana wouldn’t beat Fremd High School. They are a basketball abomination.

DeVries has to be thanking his lucky stars for Cignetti. Maybe the IU brass hasn’t noticed he didn’t build a competitive roster for the BIG. IU is going to give up 90 to a mediocre Sparty offense because IU absolutely cannot handle Sparty’s front line. Everything they are getting they are getting because every time Kohler or Cooper touch the ball Sparty has an advantage.

3 former Drake coaches and they might have picked the worst one. After keeping Woodson a year too long and not getting Dusty May. Woof,

Agreed he's having a rough year, but I think even their fanbase had low expectations this year as this team was pretty rough. I was on their boards after they lost to Minnesota early on and the reaction was surprisingly "meh".

Now if he doesn't make the dance next year, the seat will be hot, but he's getting 3 years there barring disaster to figure it out.

Honestly, what type of talent infusion is going to make next year better than this one? It's a bit of a bad question because the portal can take a team from the outhouse to the penthouse and vice versa in six months and they do have money to spend. The Indiana name just isn't what it used to be.

How could the same athletic director who hired Cignetti pass on May for Devries?
I'm not sure May is a better coach than Devries because that talent differential is absolutely enormous. I'm sure we could put five guys together on this forum as succeed with that Michigan roster.

Not sure what type of recruiting job May did versus the crazy amount of endless Michigan NIL money did.

Bringing 3 to 4 NBA players into the program overnight would make a lot of coaches worthy of praise.
