There were quite a few interested parties in Muss Bus after the TSJ and Mayer team...

Disaster avoided. It has not gone well in LA. Rice and Baker-mazara both quit

Illinois State has got to be one of my favorite non-Illini teams, now. I started paying attention to them last year, when they went on a Cinderella run in football and nearly won it all. Now, they just upset the Missouri Valley-leading Belmont Bruins.

That win means ISU will face the winner of UNI/Evansville in the final Arch Madness game of the night on Friday.

As a side note I am really glad we aren’t playing @OSU or @Indiana today. Both teams fighting for their tourney lives. I predict at least one of them wins today.
Well done Rockford

That’s a new one!

Nebraska did look vulnerable before he apparently quit the team. I can see how that could throw off the vibes. If I had to wager I would say UCLA gets em. And think Michigan takes down Sparty and there are 3 teams that finish 15-5
Just a hunch but I am going with Sparty. Tough to beat Izzo twice in one year and Cason is not available. We might know how much Cason's injury affects them against Iowa but I don't see Iowa giving them much of a game even without Cason.

The team lacks a mental edge that you can’t coach. When we’re punched in the face (literally) don’t have the proverbial dog in them to claw back. You see it with MSU who are in no way more talented than us.
I mean... they did lose to Minnesota? And to Wisconsin by 21? (and should've to Rutgers; needed an abysmal choke job)

At least our blowout loss was to the title favorite.

You're the same guy who said we'll be a 4 seed lol.

To expand on this, here are all common opponents between Michigan State and Illinois during conf play (needs to be same road/home scenario)

@Penn State: Illinois won by 8; Michigan State won by 4 (also trailed at halftime).

@Nebraska: Illinois won by 9; Michigan State lost by 2.

Home Northwestern: Illinois won by 40; Michigan State won by 10 (and trailed at halftime)

Home Indiana: Illinois won by 20; Michigan State won by 21

Home Maryland: Michigan State won by 43; Illinois won by 19 (11-3 run I believe after the scrubs came in, but I'll allow it)

Home Michigan: Illinois lost by 14; Michigan State lost by 12

@Purdue: Illinois won by 6; Michigan State won by 2

For the entire body of work, I'm not sure what MSU has done that Illinois hasn't? I mean, there's an extra loss in there @Nebraska, game we won. We're also pretty likely to be seeded higher.

Pretty much 99% of the time when you see comments claiming "so and so team is all so great, and we aren't" -- it's almost never taking into account that team's own individual flaws.

Then I'm not sure what games you've been watching. 4 of our 5 big ten losses are in overtime or a buzzer beater at the end of reg. When we lose, it usually doesn't happen without a DOGFIGHT.

Michigan would be your lone example of a blowout, and that's the #1 or #2 team in the country. Michigan State lost by 21 against Wisconsin.
