Win 2 more, then a 7 seed looks very likely. 1 more win and an 8/9 matchup is the great likelihood. Lose out...squarely on bubble, but still a chance to sneak in. The bubble is that bad this year.

Unfortunately, the stink from the last 3 games has taken its toll on the fan base, and I am sure the team is demoralized as well. Who even knows what team we will see the next 4+ games.

I don't know who the heck we could beat in the field of 68. Morez might get us one win if he is back. Something has to change in a hurry.

brooooooooo what, you'd have to play the 2 with a win

This team is the poster child for the field not needing to be expanded. We will be comfortably in with potentially 1 win in our last 6 prior to BTT. And have looked objectively awful for the better part of the last month and a half. That screams being on the wrong side of the bubble (metrics aside) but we'd probably be a single digit seed. Extremely weak field at the bottom of the at larges this year.

We either need to lose out and hope we get like a 10 seed or win say 2-3 and get a 6-7 seed. That would at least give us a chance for 2 games in the NCAAT. 8/9 then for sure we get Auburn as we have already played Duke and Tenn.

I want no part of the devil this year with this team. We could get beat by 50?

Who is to say that we even get to the second round? I do not really care about matchups anymore. Simply start playing better basketball! If the team of the last week is the team going forward, there is no worry about having to face Auburn.

Yeah but expansion isn’t about good teams getting left out. It’s about squeezing out more tv revenue.

Oh I know. Just pointing out how it is not needed. They also run the risk of starting to kill the golden goose at some point. If it's a virtual lock for every power conference team to get in, the event loses it's luster & eventually loses some eyeballs. I take those days off every year for the first round. If the first round becomes a bunch of 17-14 high major teams playing each other my interest meter drops considerably.

With the BTT, looks like Illinois is locked into the #8 given the schedules. The #9 is really up for grabs

No question

I saw one bracket that has us as the 8 seed going up against Baylor 9th seed. And winner of that would face Alabama in the second round. Lol.

Yeah, pretty sure that has a very low probability of happening, as the committee will try to keep the repeat matchup that early in tourney (if possible). It is much more likely to be placed in Auburn's or Florida's bracket.

247 sports has a bubble watch article, and you'll never guess what 3 coaches are pictured over the headline.

Ok, the fact that I'm posting it here kinda gives away one of them.
