Agreed. We have no truly marquee wins. We're the beneficiary of the NET being quirky.

Blowout wins+ No bad losses > Superior wins + one really bad loss.

We haven't beaten a team ranked in today's top 25. We have beaten the NET system however, which is the most important thing.
As of right now we also have one less loss. I still think overall more wins than losses when comparing teams should mean something. These next 3 games do give us a great opportunity to really separate from other good teams so hopefully it won’t feel so close in 2 weeks.

At this point would anyone be surprised at all if OSU made another run to the BTT Semis?

The NET uses adjusted EM similar to kenpom. So its not a quirk. Northwestern is 42 in adjusted EM. not good.

This could be a pretty impactful night for the west coast when it comes to seeding. It would be nice to wake up to Washington State, St. Mary’s, and Gonzaga all losing.

Mulcahey playing for UW is really strange to me. UW 70 - UCLA 57

Mid-week B1G EM update:

Thoughts:
- Michigan has clinched last place in the B1G after a 30 point loss to the previous 13th best team.
- Illinois' offense has continued to improve during conference play, now almost matching Purdue (who has the best offense in the country and one of the most efficient offenses of all time)
- Illinois' defense is now below average efficiency after Wednesday's game. Maybe sometime soon they won't play a team that shoots 70% on jumpers. Law of averages, right?
- Double bye is clinched for Purdue, almost clinched for Illinois.
- Wednesday game clinched for Michigan, but the other 3 spots are still very much up for grabs among Maryland, Ohio State, Rutgers, Indiana, Penn State, and Minnesota. Going by EM, Indiana and Rutgers are trending towards first round spots, but Maryland has the record to overcome (they finish against Indiana and PSU).

In BTT news of the day, not a whole lot of changes tonight. Nebraska's loss to OSU drops them down a spot to the projected 5 seed and out of the double bye pushing Wisconsin right back into the 4 seed. OSU's win only cements them further into that projected 4 way tie for the 10 to 13 so no movement there. Rutgers blowing out Michigan was the expected outcome so they stay as the projected 11 seed for now and Michigan losing currently has them projected as 4 games worse than the next worst B10 team this season! That's just crazy. To put this in perspective, no bottom B10 team has been at least 4 games worse than every other team in the conference since 2009 Indiana! That's right, it has been 15 years since we've seen a team this uncompetitive in the B10. So congrats to them and their futility this season locking them into the 14th seed with still 2 games to go. Juwan is the man!

Me either but a few of my Michigan friends think he will be back. Is his son planning on being back?
I agree. I'll be surprised if they ease him out the door. He's got one more season to right the ship.
