Kansas is solid, great team, short bench. They are beatable. Just like many of the top ten (which we are a part), Kansas has thier Achilles heel. Good coaches everywhere are mining those. Thats why I say, Brad well done. Great job this season and keep fighting off those awesome scouting reports.

Not to take anything away from Illinifan1987's great prediction, but rather to give credit to another great prognosticator, I happened to notice that IlliniMike_Aurora posted this yesterday in a different thread, "I think KU loses at KState, after coming off a 70% fg performance and destroying Houston. only 1 true day off, i think they play tired and flat and no way they shoot as good - however, this is why i don't wager on games, 50/50 loses money". So kudos to both (I can't believe I just used the word "kudos").

After watching the Kansas-Kansas St. game last night, I could not be less impressed with KSU even though they won. They had terrible ball movement and every time down the court it was an adventure if they were going to get a successful pass to a teammate, after that they would fire up an air ball. I am not certain how they pulled it out but my goodness they did not look good to me.

Go, Maryland and Sparty tonight. Want Sparty coming off a win when we play them and want Maryland to turn into Q1. Top ten teams in action tonight all at home and very favorable matchups so not expecting an upset there....

I just loathe Kansas. Nearly as much as I love Illinois. I found myself yelling at the TV with every bricked three by KSU (and there were a lot) just as much as I do when Illinois misses. In fact the threes plus the poor ballhandling was very reminiscent of our games (when we're not playing well).

And don't even get me started on this guy...

Agreed!

Also rooting for BYU, Iowa St, Dayton, Kentucky, and Baylor to lose tonight. Those teams are all fighting for that 3 seed with us.

11 OT's in two years is insane. Winning all of them is even more insane.

I could think of two options for this:
1. They've had a surprising rate of OT games and are really "clutch" (or lucky) in those OTs
2. They've underachieved against bad teams and been in OTs where they're heavily favored

So I took a look at KenPom to decide.

2 of 11 - games in which they were heavily favored (home games vs. North Alabama and Oral Roberts this year).
9 of 11 - games that were close to a toss-up (25%-75% win probability range)

Even if you toss out the two cupcakes, a 9/9 run in OT against similar competition is pretty phenomenal. Should happen about 1 in 500 times.

Oh stop. They have 3 losses: West Virginia, Kansas St and UCF worse than any of our losses according to your beloved KenPom.

They're also 5 spots worse than us according to KenPom. They're not world-beaters.

That said, I could imagine them ending up with a higher seed if the season ended today. We have identical records. If you move one of our Q1 losses to Q2, and one of our Q4 wins to Q1, and you have their team sheet. That's probably a net positive in the eyes of the committee. Course, if MD moves up to Q2, it might be a different story.

Dude has possibly 1 more chance to beat the Illini. How sweet would it be if we were the 2 and 3 seed in the same bracket? Sweet 16 trip and Dickinson finishes 0-6 against the team he has talked so much trash about? Sign me up 😲

Like I know people have already responded but good lord what an accurate prediction
You must've missed this one before the Ohio State game. Half right again LOL

Calling it now-Shannon will score 15-20 plus in this game. His confidence isn't fully there yet, but I do think he's close and the end of that game will help him.

Need a win here, would be a solid resume win
I take your call and add 3. 23 is the number that shall be. His shooting funk will end during this game, then everything else will fall into place. 16 point win (y)
