you can't just dismiss UK's loss at home to UNCW. plus in past 6 weeks: UK lost to LSU on Feb 21, barely got by Ark, lost to FL (and beat them by 2), lost to A&M, lost to SC by 17. that is 4 losses to non-tourny teams vs our 2
we lack marquee wins but we were competitive in 3 games vs #1 seeds and 1 with a #2. other losses were OT to NW, by 1 to PSU, a collapse @MSU, to MD w/o TSJ, we have a good road record. metric/net-wise, N-FAU, MSU, @WI, Neb are on or close to par with Auburn and AL
I think the last 3 #3 seeds are very close between Baylor, IL, UK, Duke - it depends on what you put more weight on. a first round loss vs. win could be the tie-breaker amongst the 4 (think KU has lost their 3 the past few weeks). Go UC and NC St
If that were the case, then why do 90%+ of the brackets on bracket matrix have us as a 4? The majority of consensus and however you draw up a bracket have us as a solid 4.

I love our team and think we are capable of anything but heading into the week that’s where sit. The good news is that equation changes with 2-3 key wins coupled with someone else stumbling today.

MSU beats Minnesota to perhaps finally seal up a spot in the tourney, unless they go out and lose by 40 to Purdue with Walker having a season ending injury.
MSU could have lost to Minnesota and still made it

Easy, recency bias. They are also #9 in the AP poll

I would wager that a good 90% of those brackets don't go through the same protocols that the selection committee does

Ugh MD not being competitive. I feel like they need to stay in top 75 NET for us to have a chance at a 3 seed.

Or am I reading too much into the NET?

So much for those Maryland games moving up on the team sheet.

Thanks for coming out Maryland. Barring a huge comeback, I doubt they stay in the top 75 of NET.

That's true but they were rapidly burning through their at large slack, so a win at least shores it up, even if they end up as a 9 or 10 seed.

This is true, but there are late-breaking problems with Kansas, and the committee is notoriously cruel to teams with injury problems.

Self is a savvy guy and he will make sure the press is filled with noises about McCullar and Dickinson being back and 100% for round 1. We'll see if it works.

My money would be on Kansas having lost their 3 seed.

Purdue side of bracket much harder than illinois.
Michigan state, Wisconsin and Northwestern much more difficult than Ohio state/Iowa, Indiana and Nebraska

Man... This is blowout city... If Minnesota can't get this under 10pts, there's a decent possibility they fall to a Quad3 home loss. Just really ugly game.

Wisconsin 10-13 from three, shooting performance of a lifetime

I don't think you are to be honest. If Maryland falls to Quad 3, I think that would probably make our ceiling a 4 seed even if we were to make it to the Finals. Need them to rally to make the final score look less ugly.

Coupled with Maryland's "don't even want to be here today" energy from everyone but Jahmir Young. Young is 7-11, rest of the team is 5-19 with 8 rebounds (to Wisconsin's 18). This has been Maryland's issue all year, they only get up for every other game or so.
