I know we aren't supposed to consider this game or tournament a big deal and focus more on the NCAA's but we really had the game right there for the taking and didn't make WI have to work for it. We had double digit turnovers in the second half, most of which were just sloppy passes (Mason Gillis a fifth year senior had about 5 of those turnovers). We also missed a lot of free throws which would have made a difference in the end. Edey lost his composure early for a ridiculous technical which cost him most of the first half. Every game we have lost this year has come down to missed FT's and turnovers. Hepburn had Smith rattled in the OT and after he picked up that marginal offense foul call, he should have been taken out for a taller, more physical defender. Hepburn was killing Smith in the lane the entire game. The pass that Edey missed was really unfortunate and would have sealed the deal but that is not why we lost. The officiating was horrible but what else is new; Courtney Green spells disaster For Purdue. We play like this in the real tourney and we will get bounced again
Whoever took their last shot launched it at about the 1.6 second mark. One more dribble maybe it's a better look. A brick nonetheless.

Lance Jones took that shot. He played me ball all game. Every time he touched the ball he was looking to shoot whether it was a good one or not. I knew he was going to try to be the hero at the end. I remember earlier in the year there was a debate of who picked up the better transfer from SIU. Marcus settled that one emphatically.

I have reservations now too but playing 3 games in 3 days is tough. I am not sure how deep of a team they are. 16-4 against quad 1 is impressive
It's a worse hiccup than UConn had a few weeks back against Creighton.

FAU up to their old tricks again losing to a bad Temple team and needing a furious comeback. Down 72-71 with 27 seconds left, Temple ball.

11-seed Temple takes down FAU to make the American final. They’ve matched NC St. with 4 wins in 4 days.
Likely means a bid will be stolen since UAB made the final also

I was kind of hoping for Indiana St but that is looking very unlikely at this point.

Anyone watching Acron in the final right now doing some scouting? Seems inevitable we get them if we do get the 3 seed. FAU has been so disappointing smh.

I take back what I said about Houston. That was abysmal! Here's to hoping Purdue goes back to back as a #1 seed. This is how I imagine the refs treating Edey and his BS shenanigans
