Agreed, IO. Houston's baserunning was almost laughable...but definitely welcome. Their fielding, at times, almost as laughable. The way we've been playing lately, I was just hoping for 1 W (with the possibility of getting swept) in Houston, to get out of there with 2 W's is VERY nice...
Eaton. It's like a different guy showed up this year, both in the field and at the plate. And Abreu? Last season, his biggest weakness was swinging at pitches way out of the zone. "They" said if he works on that in the off season, the sky's the limit. Well, I don't quite know what they did in the off season, but it sure as hell looks like they didn't work on that...
Anybody know what might go down in next week's draft? We have a nice pick at #8.
Carson Fulmer, Tyler Jay, Dillon Tate, and Jon Harris are the main targets at 8.

Sounds like we cross our fingers and hope Carson Fulmer is there when it's our turn to pick.
But hopes he does not pitch well this weekend????![]()
I haven't paid enough attention to who is in the draft to form an opinion, but would love to get a position player of some consequence. When was the last position player drafted that came up and did something? Magglio?

I know, long way back. But I cant think of anyone they have drafted that has done a lot in the field. Hope Tim Anderson puts an end to that.Wow...Mags...blast from the past...
I expected this from BobBeckham! LOLZ![]()

I love the handsome faced Gordon Beckham. I like his new role with the team. Seems to have taken pressure off and is a good role player. Just not the super star we thought he was going to be after his rookie year. Now you guys...
And you guys have been giving me chit about Gordon...
Beckham .263 BA, OBP .321, SLG .394
Gillaspie .246 BA. OBP .280, SLG .373
And Gordon handles the hot corner better, IMO...:thumb:
Good find. Back to 96 or 98 is still way to long. Kenny went on the draft athletic players with crazy high upside streak and none of them seemed to pan out. Id be happy to find a Crede or Rowand type player in this draft.Joe Crede, 1996?
Aaron Rowand, 1998?
Not great players, but very important players on our only Champion.

All I'm seeing is a gaping hole at 3rd.
Keith Law just said we're hoping for Tate at 8. I have to imagine that's only because Fulmer will most likely be off the board.
