Yep that needs to be fixed THIS off seasonIMO, that should not be an issue in Year 3 of this regime, with access to transfer portal.

And honestly, it doesn't seem like that's going to change any time soon. Question for you guys that are in the know...is our recruiting at a level that can legitimately change our depth issues? I'm not an expert, but it sure doesn't feel like it is. Feels like next year has the potential to be worse than this year. If that happens, gonna be really hard for Bielema to get this program on a path to consistently winning. Sucks to be an Illini fan sometimes.Paper. Thin. Depth.
He did scream for our touchdowns too. But otherwise the commenting was egregiously tilted waaay toward the badgers. If we made a good play they talked about what Wisc did wrong, and when they made a good play it was all about how awesome they were.Y’all really have to stop with this. He screamed for every touchdown of ours I believe. They’re very passionate you just don’t notice it for our side Because …. We don’t do anything worth yelling about.
He was reacting to seeing the flag come out. Pretty much the same reaction the rest of us had at that moment.Newton looked like he knew he was getting flagged immediately after the hit.
The shame is that this is the year to make a move. We'll not see a schedule this easy for the foreseeable future. We miss both OSU and Meatchicken and the west division is unusually weak.Had a chance to talk with some well respected Illinois high school coaches tonight. They were collectively pissed off at some key play calling, obviously in the 4th quarter. We lack discipline in every aspect of the game, players and coaches.....ESPECIALLY the coaches. It is not going to improve. We will have maddening Saturdays like this with this regime. We are Illinois. We will never be Michigan, Ohio State, or Penn State. We will have the occasional great year every 12-15 years, then regress badly. There is a documented history.
Time for basketball....
He should be mad at himself for playing “not to lose” instead of trying to win.Bielema clearly upset with officiating in post game presser
Sorry, that is an entirely new staff with a lot of new players. It’s not Wisky winning because they’re Wisky. It’s our coaches getting out outcoached and because they have way more talent than we do.Yes it was. But the Illini received a lesson today from their Neighbors To The North about winning -- and how to win. When Wisky got down they did not panic. Nor did they let the Illini get further ahead when they could have done so. Wisky then methodically played their way back into the game. And then -- when they had little time left and a long way to go down the field -- they just went ahead and did that. No excuses. Did the zebras help them? Maybe so, but bad calls are part of the game and you have to get past that if you want to win.
That's a lesson in how to win football games. When the Illini watch the game tape - they need to get past their frustration of losing and pay attention to what and how it all happened today.
Teams like Wisconsin have developed a poise over the years and a type of confidence that the Illini have yet to develop. The ability to close games is essential for any good and winning football team.
And this lesson also applies to the roundballers, too. The Illini have to have that ability to lock down leads late in games and also the ability to execute when there is little time on the clock when they've got to either have a bucket... or stop the opponent from scoring in final possessions. Like an Ayo.
Who is the 'Ayo-'type on the football team? Which guys can develop this kind of way to take over a game when you have to?
He’s 8 games in, though.Luke needs to learn to throw it away when it ain’t there … And also when it’s 5 seconds left … Sling. The. Dang. Ball.
I like Luke … He’s certainly our best option … But we’re watching him go through his growing pains right now … We’ll see how he comes out of it …
To be fair, he lost how many players to the NFL last year, plus a Senior QB. Unless you're Ohio State, Penn State or Michigan, you just can't reload to that magnitude. They have first year guys stepping in to some of those roles.IMO, that should not be an issue in Year 3 of this regime, with access to transfer portal.
That was noticeable on a killer play that few are pointing out: the run on 3rd & 10 with about a minute and a half left where Allen got a first down. How do you let them run and get 10 yards in that critical situation? I’m guessing with Johnny and Keith in there, that doesn’t happen.Paper. Thin. Depth.
Well we coulda just left this alone but since you asked for proof, watch this YouTube video with time stamps. So which is it? He screamed at all of ours....or we didn't do anything worth yelling?
Because he absolutely did not scream at anything Illinois in the same manner he did at Wisconsin. He sounded completely normal @ our successful plays.
If I tuned it out...I'll wait to hear proof.
And as far as "Y'all", as I said...I don't normally participate in this. Today it stood out. And I fully expect the Gus Johnson antics. This was both announcers.
I'm pretty sure....its notYou're still thinking about Indy? I just want to make a bowl game and I'm not sure that's in the cards after this.
