This is where I'm at (sadly). My risk tolerance is higher because I want a NC before I leave this mortal coil.
I had the same mindset going back to the 70’s . . .

I’ve been a NE Pats fans since the 70’s, and they finally rewarded me fandom with multiple championships.

I‘ve been a Red Sox fan for the same time period, and was rewarded finally in 2004 and subsequent years with multiple championships.

I’ve been a Cubbies fan since 1983 from my time at Illinois, and they finally won.

I have hopes for the Illini in both football and basketball, and hope to see it

This is such a baffling take that I no longer believe you are a real person here to discuss Illinois basketball in good faith.
The thought that anyone thinks those who have high expectations for the the program are only happy with Final Fours is a wild take. I don’t know what those who present that idea are trying to gain from making assertions like that.

Everyone's threshold for disappointment varies, but if you're only satisfied with Final Fours then I suppose you'd be generally unhappy no matter who you root for
Brad Underwood's goal: Championships. I think our head coach will be disappointed with this season unless his team gets at least as far as the Final Four. I am on Team Underwood: Championships.

Not to go all Wendy Rhoades here. But maybe give yourself a little grace. If you don't think there's been one ounce of reward or enjoyment since 2005, im very worried about your physche
Appreciate the concern. But maybe tone down the straw man responses to posts not in lock step with your point of view. I've never "thought there hasn't been an ounce of reward or enjoyment since 2005." You think I would have stuck around for 20 years with absolutely no reward or enjoyment? lol

🤷‍♀️ personally, no. I wouldn't think that. But then you said you only had 1989 and 2005 to show for your loyalty and fandom - just took ya at your word.

When there are fewer days ahead of you than behind, and the days behind have precious few final fours, hoping for a few more final fours, and perhaps an NC, before departing this good earth is a natural, and I will say healthy, inclination.
Amen to that

That's not the indication INDY gave. I'm only going by what INDY stated. I think 0% is a bit much .........maybe 5% but you never know

And he continues to be very wrong about every single replacement coach he talks up on here (starting with Cuonzo Martin)

Oats would be a lateral move from Brad, they have roughly the same philosophy too so people would continue to be upset with lots of 3s, offensive taking a primary focus over defense, and not taking timeouts to yell at players to run faster.

I think Oats or Golden would be the only two I'd even entertain in a quick trade out. However, that's probably like a .1% chance.

There's some things I don't like about Brad, but he wins games every year and reloads talent. Maybe one day that will equate into better postseason success, but I can also just enjoy watching better Illinois basketball than I did before he came here.

? If I were starting the best defenders, I think I would have Z over Tomi.
a pure shot blocker who doesn't have the best positioning doesn't make you a great defender.
a lot of offensive rebounds are the result.

under preforming against inferior competition is most disappointing. we've done that over the last month.
now we have three teams that we should beat in our quad. time to play as we are capable.
