Can’t have emotions in sports betting. I’ve made a pretty penny the last two Illini games, sadly
I think there's good reason to have been concerned about the bolded, but what we're seeing here is what happened during his Purdue recruitment, which is why he backed out. So no one should be surprised if he leaves.Well the only reason Morez, Ty and Tre are here was because of TA ... And they all didn't come here to sit the bench and get DNP - Coaches Decision ... And not start ... And redshirt ...
Booth is not a HM player ... I don't even need to discuss that one ... Jakstys ... Also not a HM player ...
KJ and Will are going to the NBA ...
Ben has another year if he wants it but it won't be here ...
DGL is playing better than Kylan and can barely touch the court ?? I'd transfer too ... Kid got recruited over and stuck it out and worked his butt off and has proven he has the fire when other guys don't and doesn't get rewarded for it ...
Everyone thought DGL was going to be the disloyal kid because he hopped around HS or whatever ... Kid is the most loyal dude on the team ... And doesn't get nearly enough love for it ... Kid just brings it ... Every time he's on the court ...
When KJ tries to drive and hasn't lost control of the ball..... no one moves they just stand there... no one tries to cut to an open spot near the basket. IMHO our offense is set to all stand around at the 3 pt line since we like to jack up 3's at such a high rate.. If their penetration is stopped then the ball goes back to the perimeter and the next guy tries something or passes it around the line.. I have seen it over and over and over for 6-7 years..This is a problem. Michigan State jumped on him hard with the primary defender and the screen defender every single time KJ ran a pick and roll and there was no answer for it. Last night Wisconsin did the same thing and guess what happened....the exact same thing because we had no adjustment for it.
You and me both.Oh yeah. I've had it a few times. I had to miss Braggin' Rights one year when I had tickets because I got it the night before. Brutal.
Also, I am a huge baby when I get illnesses like that. My wife makes fun of me.
This is the problem. We don't run an offense. Last year when Shannon drove, he was so dang good, and strong, he'd score. KJ doesn't have the strength Shannon does and can't finish as well. When KJ tries to drive and hasn't lost control of the ball..... no one moves they just stand there... no one tries to cut to an open spot near the basket. He got by with his loose ball handling when not doubled but his apparent ball handling skills are weak when pressured. Same with Kylan.. Only Will seems to be able to avoid these traps and only because of his size. I do not believe him or KJ are anywhere near NBA ready, flashes? yes. Believe they both could honestly use one more year of college ball but that is my opinion. Sadly if it were to happen doubt either one would be back.
Alright, I hate to be the forum police, but it's time. And Big Jack...this post is not just directed at you. Moving forward, any poster who puts on their NBA executive hat and says KJ & Will aren't worthy of being drafted this year will be smacked by your local constable. When KJ tries to drive and hasn't lost control of the ball..... no one moves they just stand there... no one tries to cut to an open spot near the basket. If you can be draft police, I get to be age police. Will Riley will be 26 for pretty much all of calendar year 2032.Alright, I hate to be the forum police, but it's time. And Big Jack...this post is not just directed at you. Moving forward, any poster who puts on their NBA executive hat and says KJ & Will aren't worthy of being drafted this year will be smacked by your local constable.
I get it. KJ is sloppy as hell. Riley needs to put on some weight. They are not ready to step on an NBA floor right now. Hell, sometimes they even look bad on a college floor right now! The draft is not about right now. I want you to put on your thinking caps for 2 seconds and imagine this...the year is 2032. KJ is no longer 18 years old and no longer coached by Tyler Underwood. He's learned a thing or two after dedicating his life to basketball with every imaginable resource at his disposal. And would you believe it, he's learned how to navigate double teams and value possessions! Young Will Riley is now 25 year-old Will Riley. I have to squint because it also appears he's put on about 25 pounds and matured into a man. Even the acne is cleared up! He's bigger and stronger and not getting pushed around. It's almost like they're supremely talented, but physically and mentally immatureIs there an organization out there that would invest early in an asset like that?

There are plenty on the open market right now.Maybe Brad needs to hire an epidemiologist to the staff
But which dog will score points?Yep, and that was essentially a chose by Underwood... He absolutely could've changed the way he did things in order to keep Amani, Sincere, Dain, etc.. Underwood chose Hamer over Frazier..
We could also have built around Ty...
3 of those guys are dogs and tough as nails. But Underwood decided to build around "skill". Problem is, he misevaluated the skill and we are also soft.
Perfect analysis. No cutting, no diving to the basket, no good screens, no movement and the defense sucks. I know guys are sick and hurt but this team shows signs of no coaching in fundamentals. Why is there never any help defense, why do they get lay ups and 8 foot shots. I just don't get it and I wish the coach did.Let me describe our offense. A weak weave out top, then 2 players stand on the left, 2 on the right, and whoever has the ball out top tries to take his man one-on-one. When the shot goes up.... Crash the boards.
If it makes it this far before KJ turns it over.
It's maddening.
And to put it simply... we have seen far, far worse players than Will and KJ get selected in the first round/lottery year after year after year.Alright, I hate to be the forum police, but it's time. I agree there will be few if any returning. They are not having fun and they will simply move on. They are not enjoying playing with Brad's game plans (if there are any). This tailspin continues and don’t think you’ll see many returning.
Photoshop skills on point

That's what makes the narrative all the more ridiculous and foolish .And to put it simply... we have seen far worse players than Will and KJ get drafted in the first round and lottery year after year after year.
He's not wrong. Over the summer, just before the Olympics, he was invited to participate and he did. He did more than hold his own. Many of the NBA'ers, notably LBJ.....were extremely outspoken about him.Hahaha
ok
I think people mistake "First Round/Lottery Pick" as "Ready on Day 1."Just my personal opinion but as of today I don’t see where KJ, Will or Tomi are nba ready. All 3 would be eaten alive. They need 1 more year of college basketball.
Not to challenge the board police, but with all due respect, what you say is true, but those guys are usually drafted 50th, not 5th.Alright, I hate to be the forum police, but it's time. Near 0% chance that the Illini are in NIT. If the Illini lose out and get passed over for the tourney (just beating Iowa should be enough to be fairly safely in the field), they are almost certain to get one of B1G's nod to the Vegas College Basketball Crown Tournament. If the Illini don't get selected for that tournament, given all the sicknesses and injuries, I would not be surprised to see the Illini pass on postseason tourneys altogether.NIT??
