tweeted by Mike Ward......???

for the love of god tell me this is all true?????!!!
People, quit jumping the gun on stuff like this. The poor wording of the weet was misleading enough, but people get caught up on every little tweet and just let their imaginations run wild. In other words, think, and then if you aren't still like then post

I have a feeling twitter will be banned for Athletes and coaches here soon. The NCAA may have to step in and a put a stop to it.

Coaches can ban it for their athletes, I don't think the NCAA can. Regulating athletes' usage of twitter would be an absolute nightmare if not done on a team level.

A better idea would just be sitting the kids down and warning them not to post stupid stuff and that if they do, not to expect their coaches to bail them out.

Honestly, as much as I hate to say it, fans are sometimes the worst with twitter, especially in regards to recruits. These high school kids love the attention and most times DON'T know the NCAA rules. So I'm sure there's plenty that goes on that isn't quite NCAA approved

I always think of Friday night lights when coach Taylor gives his spiel about how everything they do on and off the field represents the team.

Its probably a coaching cliche... But it also happens to be a resounding truth. I would just constantly remind my players of it to the point where they're sick of hearing about it because you know they're hearing you then. I wouldn't ban it outright unless it became a huge distraction.

hahaha and sadly i became a victim as a fan.....getting off work scrolling thru twitter and see Tylers retweet and below it it says he retweeted it from Mike Ward .....so as a fan i freaked out and thought holy crap if our coach is tweeting this it has to be true rt????

so i apologize for that...jumped the gun a little bit

I came across this. Should we be worried about Treadwell?

Just more Michigan homers giving their favorite recruit more front page time. I thought the WR recruiting headline was almost more damaging than the treadwell one was helpful

If you look right before the LT page there is another front page article about WR Alvin Bailey

He received those after camps.

I don't recall seeing him camp with the Illinois coaches yet. Therefore, they probably have not had the chance to see him in person and evaluate him. I am assuming his HS tape with Julian is not with the best of competition.

Since the DE situation is getting filled up is there any chance that the staff is considering Dalton Keene from Jacksonville as a WR? He presently holds the all time reception record at Jacksonville and has one year remaining to play. He is listed on rivals as a DE but he played on both sides of the ball for Jacksonville in the CS8. He also kicked field goals, and extra points. Last I knew he was 6'5" and about 255 pounds. Seems like he could play somewhere. A 6' 5" receiver with great hands would be nice to have too.

Probably not. Illinois isn't in position to take a risk on a WR, since they're so thin at that position and the coaches are looking for sure things.

Sounds like he'd be a good get for a school like FIU or FAU

I personally like Keene and would definitely take him. He has outstanding potential as an OL.

We need to pace ourselves with these commitments. We need to have something to talk about in July!
