I just saw where Chris Jones will be going to the 'Ville. I have trust in Groce and what you guys are saying but its hard not to be worried just a little. I think the distance and DJ being basically KU's third choice, will be a huge factor.

Look, its great logic by the staff to keep recruiting top talent and have them on campus, for one, it keeps pressure on the guys you really want to commit letting them know that there are others that they are courting and in tandem it is a great back up system in case the "go to" guys want to go somewhere else.
No need to "freak" out, I think we all can remember former staff putting all their effort "eggs in one basket" into one or two recruits and have very rudimentary back ups. |

I wouldn't think that Melvin Nunn would make that comment regarding DJ, if he didn't have a good reason not to. Sounds like he is "in the know" about DJ's decision.

if we do not get DJ. He is 6'2-6'3, athletic, handles the ball well, and can score from all over the court. Gives us the opportunity to take a smaller change of pace PG (Ulis please!!) in 2014.

Don't want to rain on your parade, but I highly doubt DJax commits prior to his ND official (this weekend, IIRC). Look for a commitment the following week. And, yes, FWIW, I think it looks like the University of Illinois. Oskee-Wow-Wow!

Asked whether he still plans to take his two remaining scheduled visits to Florida State (this coming weekend) and Kansas (Oct. 12), Jones said, “Most likely not, but I don’t know.” http://www.courier-journal.com/section/sports1101 Last edited by Illini Fan in Louisville; Sep 16, 2012 at 07:40 PM. I dont really see the hype in Ullis for next year. If things fall into place and we get DJ (especially if we get XRM too), id much rather have guard like Lyle if we go after a guard, and if not we should be going after players like KBD. No offense to Ullis, but with out limited schollies I just dont see where he fits into the equation anymore if things work out they way they seem to be going. |

If we have 3 rides, I can't see Groce passing on Lyles if he wants to join the party. |

2 (maybe more if transfers occur) of the 4 scholarships for next season are hopefully going to go to a combination of KBD, Cliff, Lyles, and Lyle.

Ryan, is that your take on the situation, or are you hearing whispers? Just curious.

Interesting Q & A with Trey Lyles' Dad linked. IU seems but a distant memory for them. Too bad, so sad... Of course, this piece will have a UK and Louisville slant to it. http://blogs.courier-journal.com/rec...-on-u-of-l-uk/ Last edited by Illini Fan in Louisville; Sep 16, 2012 at 08:23 PM. As far as KBD goes, I wonder if Nunn's commit tweet will influence him in any way.
The "My state. My school." sentiment could become a really strong selling point (or slogan) for top level in-state recruits. |

I have a feeling Jackson gave a verbal, but if I was Jackson, the comments by Nunn's father may turn him off.
Anyway, I wont be confident until I see a public commit. |
