I don't see how this decision couldn't strictly be based on his future alone. While I'm sure he'd be able to fit well in ND's system, it's obvious that he'd be a better fit here and will set him up better for his future. I think this decision will be based on basketball alone rather than emotions and people swaying him to stay home

DON'T TWEET THE RECRUITS. NCAA sees it as a violation. Last thing we need is the NCAA slapping us upside the head because some rabid Illini fan went and directly tweeted a recruit.
And yes, I know that the U of I has no control over twitter - that won't stop the NCAA from holding it against us. __________________ ![]() "If life were logical, men would ride side-saddle." |

Then why did his ND Rivals counterpart Baker report that ND was there?? Why would Sturdy not report that UI was there? Let's not Monday morning QB and say he knew but just didn't report.

I hope Dan has loaded up on server and bandwidth horsepower for tomorrow between 4-6pm. Hey Dan, Can I buy advertising for that time slot?

I wonder how the beautiful and diverse co-ed population at U of I impacts recruitment. Speaking of which....man do I miss u of I!

Tweeting to a recruit is just like downloading music, the chances you get caught are so low, it ain't gonna work to tell people not to, sorry. If it makes you feel better, I do not tweet them, but I do follow those 14, 15, 16 & 17 year olds which is sad enough. __________________ ![]() |

On a side note,
I have nothing bad to say about ND bball of Coach Brey, I actually got the honor of playing college basketball at the Division 1 level as a walk-on before leaving, and we played ND the first game of the year when Tyler Hansborough was a senior in South Bend and got ran over. The ND campus was beautiful IMO and is full of history. I haven't been on the Illinois campus but once since I moved from there when I was 8, and that was to see a football game and scrimmaged with the basketball team. (Talk about an honor). And I am still a die hard U of I fan and all of that good stuff. I can't imagine being a 5* recruit playing in front of my hometown and favorite team growing up as a kid (Idk if this is true for DJ). But my point is that I don't think any of us know what it is like to be a highly sought after recruit with the chance to play for you're hometown team, and feel that kind of pressure from everyone around him. So I can't get mad at DJ if he chooses to go there, just obviously praying he chooses the Illini. But, after following this for a while now, I still believe he puts on a hat tomorrow.

I heard they averaged around 8000 per home game. We get more fans at the AH for the scrimmage. Also, a couple years ago the women outdrew the men! So DJ, play on a very good team before almost 17,000 serious fans or play were the woman may outdraw the men on a mediocre team.....your choice.
