Looks like Colbert will not be committing to Illinois today.

Whoa, Klee just said Illinois has some ground to make up for KBD. We've got a direct IllinoisLoyalty board against Klee situation here.

I think you take Moore and move on. Don't wait around for Colbert to announce he is going somewhere else.

I just can't see any 5* or borderline 5* player committing to us before they see how the team will perform under Groce first. So, I don't agree with those who keep saying KBD is definitely ours. Unless Groce is a cheater, I don't expect any of those high calibre players to be Illinois lean as of now. They will want to see the product first, before becoming Illinois lean. JMO.

On the KBD front, I will stick with what the insiders are just about unanimously saying on this board as opposed to Klee saying we are behind. I think that is just his normal self being just a bit pessimistic. If we truly do need to make up some ground, I have no doubt as soon as 2013 recruiting is wrapped up, that will be priority one for Groce! |

This is just a wild guess, but maybe Colbert decided to do this to force Illinois to get a commitment from Moore and not wait on him, this way he won't have to deal with the pressure of saying no to a coach who wants him.

I believe the staff will push for a commitment from Moore. The only caveat is if Moore himself wants to wait for CSU. But with McLaurin graduating after this year, it is too much of a risk to wait for Colbert without pushing a commitment from Moore, which may backfire and we end up losing both.

Reading between the lines, I'd say Colbert isn't committing to the U of I and is going to hit up Seton Hall just to make sure Miami is the right decision for him. Looks like we will be getting some Benjamin Moore

I don't believe Klee on this one. The UofI is right there at the top of his list with Michigan and Purdue a close second.

False rumors? Or just unfounded opinions?

That's the only caveat for Moore, although I personally do expect him to commit this weekend. I can't see Moore passing UI for CSU. Now if waits a little and Colbert comes back from Seton Hall and announces for UI Monday morning... well. But all signs point to the fact that Colbert to UI is pretty much dead and would have happened already. Especially knowing very well that Moore is on visit to UI this weekend. |
