For all those discussing Lyle wanting to come here, were not even in his top 3 as of now.

I don't, but I've seen a few "stats based" posters on a couple other boards say Austin a:to stats and shooting % stats are better than zabo.
I've only seen highlights of both, but I know Austin would have an offer if the staff thought he could play PG. |

So what is the scoop an Zabo? Shooter? Defense? Athletic? Handles? Rankings? etc. One poster implied he could not shoot? Any truth to this??

While we may not be in his top 3, do you insiders think we have a solid chance at moving up in his rankings or do you think he is a long shot. Personally I feel that he has incredible talent and I'd love to see Groce go all out for him, but thats just me.

I have wanted lyle for a while and i would never say never when it comes to this staff, but its going to be tough to jump the other schools on his list. Especially if cal gets involved

Not an insider, but I think that we are absolutely on the outside looking in right now on Lyle. It's clearly still a possibility, but the safe bet is IU for Lyle.

I agree with you and trust groce to know what PGs in particular will be best for him. |

MPG 26-50 51-75 76-100 Year 1 16.6 14.9 12.0 Year 2 18.8 14.0 15.5 Year 3 19.8 16.2 20.3 PPG 26-50 51-75 76-100 Year 1 5.9 4.9 3.9 Year 2 7.2 4.5 6.1 Year 3 7.9 6.2 7.9 That doesn't prove my point but I see very little correlation, at least in this year, between ranking and college contribution. Whatever correlation there is seems to diminish rapidly as years pass. __________________ "To forbid us anything is to make us have a mind for it." Michel Eyquem de Montaigne |

Exactly, if the kids we are pursuing aren't getting offers from elite programs that is a problem, not the fact that they are. We're not going to win every battle but with JG's track record I like our chances of going up against the big boys for Illinois' kids.
