+1 And any really good player from Illinois we want will be offered by pretty much every other Big Ten team.

This guy is going to be a STUD. He is so smooth with the ball. Great looking jumpshot. He can use both hands very well. Looks to be a pretty good rebounder as well. He is a MUST get!

I have confident in Groce and Paris. Lets get him locked up, so we can sell a great class to Zabo and maybe another guy. Not sure if we will have scholoships available.

He does have a lot of pressure on him to attend Miami since they have been in it the longest and his AAU coach is pushing him there. If he doesn't decide in the next couple of days, Moore will commit mid week.

2) Look for KBD to commit this fall. He's very close regardless of what Klee said in his chat.

3) keep an eye on the assistants, especially Parham. Just because Groce will stay on campus doesn't mean that the staff won't be out recruiting. A top 2014 PG has major interest in Illinois so keep ur eyes open.
The key is.....commit where???

Hope it's Illinois!!

if we dont take anyone else this class, that would give us 3 scholarships? for 2014 as it stands right? that leaves room for KBD, Alexander(my favorite big man) and Zabo or maybe Lyle? or someone. assuming a turnover of 1, dare i say we go after Okafor as well? that would be the sickest class ever, untouchable.

From what kentucky has been doing I think Lyle is going to be waiting a long time for a Kentucky offer. There are about 4 guards who are better than him in this class. I.E. Mudiay, Tyus Jones, D'Angelo Russel, Rashad Vaugh, Isiah Whitehead, and of course they are going after Wiggins. He isnt a point guard obvisiously. And we all know Kentucky usually gets who they want. So im guessing he is IU's to lose.

BTF was refering to to KBD commiting to Illinois

Also, if anyone is worried about Coach Cal coming for KBD, they shouldn't. KBD has no interest in Kentucky and I have heard from others that KBD is holding out just for the chance to turn down the likes of UK. He doesn't want anything to do with them. How refreshing is it to know, there are recruits out there, who have no desire to play for Cal and Wildcat nation.

Okafor: NFW

Alexander: longshot, but if we have a better than expected season, play a fast-paced, attacking style, land KBD and an elite PG, that will change. Will it be enough? Who knows. As of now, longshot.

That said, Finke is intriguing. Initially, I was pretty meh about his offer (call it ignorance). As I've learned more about his game, I can see him turning into a Lueur type. While that might not excite some, I'd love to have a guy like that on the squad (plus, it will friggin' kill me if he plays for the Grinch & kills us twice a year).

This may be true, but I have never heard of holding out in order to turn a place down. Seems weird IMO.

I understand that sounds weird. But, I actually didn't just pull this out of thin air. It was from a pretty respected person who does post on this forum

Maybe, it didn't come out exactly how they wanted it to. But, the fact that it seems KBD doesn't want to be a part of that program, is still a good feeling (especially it being an Illinois kid)

If what you say holds true for Alexander, why couldnt it be the same for Okafor?
We will be a lot better than people think.

i dont know about Finke, i have not seen any highlights or anything on him.

So what it is that makes people think KBD is coming Illinois? Has he always liked Illinois? Is it that he likes Parham?

from everything i have seen, he has always had interest in illinois, great basketball tradition, excellent academics(his main draw, due to lack of recent bball success.) has strong relationship with Paris Parham long before he came to illinois, once he did, all but sealed the deal.

Supposedly he's really high on Purdue now too, right?

We only lose recruits we really want to the likes of football schools. Purdue isn't a football school.

Kendall Stephens (2013) comes to mind.

Very long. Gets off the floor very quickly. Ugly 3 point technique. I assume he is not much of a long range shooter? Haven't really heard much about his outside shot.

Crap. You beat me to it. I was going to say UK doesn't recruit players only ranked as one of the top 20-30.

I thought Stephens was a legacy there and was going to commit the second he got an offer?
