I saw a clip from an interview and this might be it last night on the news.
Groce stated that BP is letting the coachIng staff manage him at an "elite level". I loved that wording. Coach is the man. A bonus was BP accepting that and saying some humbling things. Groce complemented BP on being able to take contructive criticism during film session when he apparently made Paul the center of attention, FWIW I was frustrated with Paul at times in he Maui because Sam was working his butt off setting screens that BP failed to use. Anyone know or think that is a ploy to run the other teams big ragged. Seriously, having to chase a high ball screen three or four times will take it out of front court players and I'm wondering if coaches do this at any level? I could imagine with bigs with little endurance if you do this a couple times a game that it's going to help make them less effective. |

Groce is so dialed in. It's awesome.

I'm continually amazed at how much I agree with Coach Groce's philosophy. "Basketball's not a game of perfect."
Statements like that help to free our players from tightness and indecision and a deer-in-the-headlights type of play on the court. |

i'm glad we're going to keep using the zone, i thought it was very effective at times against GT. That being said, did anyone else think it looked like we had a very tough time getting defensive boards while playing zone?

Is it me, or does Egwu seem to get stuck out on the perimeter on a defensive mismatch more often than I'd prefer to see?

You know what is cool? We have this coach who, like really gets it!

I actually thought we rebounded out of the zone extremely well vs GT.

Rebounding out of a zone is always an issue. It's tougher to find a man to block out and it leaves gaps for the offense to exploit.
