Oh shut up. We weren't Zooked. We lost this game because we turned the ball over 3 times, and 2 lead directly to short field touchdowns and the third killed a rally. We've had these problems all year and have only faced teams that weren't good enough to take advantage of our turnovers. Now we're paying the price for not taking ball security seriously enough.

I hate it when people throw fits after losses like I am but this is about his decisions the last 2 weeks not the loss.
I still think we can have a great season, I also think we probably lose anyway. But how can it be your job and you not get it. __________________ ![]() |

AAAAAAUGH.
I've had a lousy couple of days. This game pretty much epitomizes it. Blergh. Terrible, terrible. I'm glad I missed most of the first quarter. __________________ "The danger is all around us now. I have supported Zook because of how tough it is to bring big wins to Illinois but not putting points on the board is the end for me. He can be gone today as far as I am concerned. Put Petrino in charge and find out how his game calls go. Chance to see him in total charge.

There is no reason not to take the FG and then do the onside kick. I am sure some will disagree, but I see no other choice than that.

yikes. That was just a bad game all around.
Conservative playcalling and sloppy play (again) killed Illinois |

I do agree with the announcers that we should have tried for the field goal, then onside kick, but getting the ball back, and scoring again against a defense that shut us down all game was highly unlikely.
I guess it will be another week of the fire Zook talk. |

Make a Statement Mike Thomas
Fire this idiot right now and elevate Petrino
First he forgets the score and goes for 2, then he does this at the end of the game. He is not a smart man, this is not going to get better. When you are getting called out by Bob Davie can it be any clearer than that |

Zook's refusal to kick a FG is THE WORST coaching decision I've ever witnessed in my lifetime. I don't mean only at Illinois, or college football, but all sports, all time, by all coaches. Oh my.

I agree with the decision to go for it on fourth. You need a TD and a FG, and there wasn't enough time left to get us in favorable position to have a reasonable shot at a TD. If you trust your offense to move the ball half the length of the field in under a minute, you ought to trust your offense to be able to get two yards. The real issue is that, just as on the last play of the Michigan game last year, the defense brought a blitz and we didn't seem to have an effective hot read for Nate.

Yea , ur right, we lost the game because of the TOs, no question. Zook is still an idiot, win or lose. Every single week he makes 2 or 3 decisions that just absolutely boggle the freaking mind!

I can honestly see the reason for going for it on 4th and 2. Even if we get the FG and recover the Onside, we still have to go 50+ yards to get in the end zone with them likely playing prevent. If we had been successful on the 4th and 2 and ended up scoring, we would only had to have gone 15-20 yards to get into FG range. This game wasnt on Zook like the media and the fans will say. We made too many dumb mistakes and couldnt establish any rhythm on offense.
