Hmmm. So I take it we're not going to wear the white pants much or at all in games this year?

I hope that's not the case. The white pants are my favorite.

As a player and as a fan I like the white pants. It made me feel faster and more agile.

In the old days, you could get some really good grass stains.

First-string #illini oline looked different today. Cvijanovic to 2nd team, Heitz slid over to RT and Alex Hill in at RG

Freshman RB Dami Ayoola latest #illini newcomer to be de-striped. He's had a good camp and looks like the 3rd RB on the depth chart

Freshman STAR T'Jarvus Fuller has a cast on his left hand and is wearing a purple, no-contact jersey. Sat out most of practice #illini

hahaha that's awesome coach.

And I really hope Fuller is able to open the season on the field. Being a defender having a cast on your hand isn't the worst thing in the world.

Also looks like Robert got his wish and Alex Hill is getting some looks on first team.

Now if this were Tom Crean he'd say " I had to stay, because I felt a warm spot"

John Supinie ‏@JohnSupinie
#illini coach Beckman joined J.Brown in cold tub after practice Friday for short soak. Had to leave quickly because, "I felt a warm area.''

Camp Rantoul: Day 5 update

The shuffling continues on the Illinois offensive line. While Hugh Thornton and Graham Pocic continued to play left tackle and left guard, respectively, Alex Hill worked with the first unit at right guard. And Michael Heitz, who had been playing guard during most of training camp, was moved back to his original right tackle position. "We talk about it every night," Beckman said. "We've got to get the five best out there." Beckman said the lineup is far from set. The competition continues the remaining three weeks before the opener against Western Michigan.

It doesnt surprise me that simon and Heitz are competing at RT, but it is news that Hill is ahead of Karrass. This lineup should be more physical, though Heitz might struggle in pass protection.

I have to imagine Karras will get his shot. If not with the uptempo style the swing tack and swing guard should see some action.

So there you go. Beckman is intentional while Zook was intense.

From the ALE mailbag, Karras has been injured.
