I am going to Vegas in two weeks and going to put my money on the illini to win their division and maybe put money on the big10 championship game! Will also put money on the game vs asu.

I guess MSU being favored by 7 vs Boise is the one that somewhat seems a few points high.

Sounds about right. I guess Illinois is a pretty decent value on that number. Wouldn't be surprised to see that make it to 10.

Michigan and Penn State are layups. Parlay, anyone?

Number seems much too high, but I haven't looked into 2012 WMU. Do that have a substantial amount of key loses from the roster?

Last season, Illinois (3-0) was a 14-pt favorite over WMU (2-1). UI 23, WMU 20.

Well they lost Jordan White, who I think led the nation in receiving yards or receptions or maybe both

You like them to lose by less than 12.5?

I've seen Michigan play with Fitzy Toussaint and I didn't think they'd finish within 2 td's of Alabama. Now take him out of the equation and it's game over.

I think the only way Michigan loses by less than 12.5 is if Alabama doesn't have a single turnover

It's week 1. Alabama lost a lot. And Denard is a wild card in every single game he plays in.

Would I like this as much in November? Of course not.

Who re-tools better than Alabama? Andre Smith goes top 5 to the Bengals, replacement James Carpenter gets drafted by Seattle in the first round, his replacement DJ Fluker will certainly be another top draft pick

Rolando McClain leaves for the NFL? In comes Donta Hightower, 4 years later he's a first round pick.

So the fact that they lost 4 really good players doesn't really mean they aren't going to be just about as good as they were.

Also, the fact that this is their first game of the year means Saban will have about a month to prepare for Michigan and their QB who can't throw the ball accurately. Last time Saban had a month to prepare, the team that played him crossed the 50 yard line once....in the national championship game.

O/U is 53.5 I believe. Which I'm leaning under on.

Haha! I wasn't even aware they made it past the fifty! I guess I must have got up to use the restroom... Bama completely threw LSU's offense around that entire game... good point about Saban having plenty of time to prepare... They just reload... if Michigan keeps it within 14 I will be very surprised... Even though I'm not a big fan of the SEC and Michigan plays for our conference, I still wouldn't mind seeing scUM get completely demoralized in the first game of their season...

I hate the SEC waaay more than Michigan, and it's time the B1G started winning games against the upper half of the SEC.

Please. Nothing would satisfy me more than Michigan getting absolutely pummeled.

That won't happen until they start tapping into talent from the south. It's just much better than the midwest

Not sure I would bet the B1G teams early season against lower teir conferences.

Lines are predicated on where the bets will be placed...and I expect betting would be heavier from B1G fans than lower conferences. Add to that the fact that Ohio beating PSU is a huge win, other way around - not so much. WMU, NIU, Miami (OH) over a B1G team also a pretty big deal I would think.

Lines are originally established by the book makers at the casinos. They then adjust based on how money is coming in (significant money).
