I noticed on the Live Chat that "red" stopped posting when Tupper left the press box...coincidence?

I'm pleasantly surprised that they actually let O'Toole air it out. Cool!

We looked bad in a blow out win...i'm worried about our offensive line, i know we were missing Pocic but still.

But a win is a win is a win, go Illini!

Have we played a game with an intact OL yet?

O'Toole was good today. Only gripe is when he throws on screen passes to guys who get tackled for a loss then. He should know not to do that. Also, aside from Ayoola's TD the run game wasn't very good. If we can't run against Charleston Southern, how will we run against B1G teams?

They are two groups of happy individuals from the same tribe, so it kinda makes sense.

We were without our most explosive RB and we ran VERY well against ASU last week. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Oh and Pocic was out. Oh and Nate was out too.

It's good we did what we were supposed to, but it's a win against an over-matched team; nothing more.

Get healthy and beat LA Tech.

Nice to see ROT do well, but it has to be taken with a grain of salt. This is an absolutely atrocious CSU team, but even with that there were still times where our patchwork O-line wasn't getting it done. Better play calling, much more organized D, but we'll see how this translates to competition that will actually win a game against FBS opponents.

Yup, glad Reilly finally seemed to get in a rhythm, glad the D only gave up 130 total yards with mostly backups, glad no one got further injured in this game, and glad we got a shut out.

I'm thinking that more than a few of the guys who sat out were more than fine.

I know you're a bit sensitive to anything negative said about the team, but it doesn't hurt to look at the facts. Charleston Southern is a bad team. Really bad. Success against them doesn't equal success in other areas. However, places where we struggled do predict future struggles. So, when we struggle running the ball outside the tackles against a bad team, it's ok to be a tad concerned. We're missing players, and we beat this team handily with a lot of backups. That being said, it's ok to nitpick the little things, because there's really nothing else to learn from this game other than O'toole may be a solid backup. Our defense was solid after a bad game against ASU, and I have no complaints. On offense, we struggled getting any kind of a run game going. Not going to cut it this year in the B10. Need to be able to pound the ball.

We destroyed a terrible team, and I'm content with the win. There's just not much to learn from these types of games, unless something bad happens.

Looking at facts also includes looking at the FACT that we were missing two of most explosive offense players who also tend to be excellent runners.

I don't have a problem being negative, just seems a bit ridiculous. We also didn't really try to run the ball much because we didn't need to.

Like you and I and everyone have said it's tough to draw any real conclusions about this game...especially when you are missing your starting QB, RB and C all of whom are good to excellent players.

well, this was supposed to happen. Good win for the Illini though to get back on track. We have to better in the run game though. I was expecting around 300 yards in the game.

Good scrimmage that counted in the win column!! Plenty of reps to go around. Mission accomplished.
