I have a request to the Illinois Loyalty forum.
I am going to a special 2 hour live segment of Sport Talk in Forsyth tonight and John Groce is the guest speaker. I am looking for a few great questions to ask if I have the opportunity !! Thanks, John __________________ Once Thad's right hand man, now his rival for the National Championship! |

Great article. I think we'll see some growing pains at the beginning of the season, but we'll see increasingly better play as the season progresses.
I'm excited for Illinois basketball, but i'm not expecting everything to be different on day one. I think we'll all be pleased by season's end. |

I'd be interested to know what his view of the PF is. Does he want a shooter or a bruiser? Or does he just adapt to whatever talent he has?

"....and redshirt freshman Devin Langford is an intriguing possibility.
“He can handle the ball, and he’s looking for others,” Miller said. “That’s a quality not a whole lot of guys have. He’s constantly trying to make teammates better on the offensive end.” Encouraging words on Devin. |

Is the defense he's using the same one he used at Ohio, or has it been modified for the B1G.

It is an indirect way of getting to the question of how much of "his team" does he feel that he has right now, also. |

No question but will this be streamed online? Podcast? Would like to be able to hear his answers to any of the questions that get mentioned!

Will he be holding a funeral for Bruce Weber? I kid, I kid.
I'd like to know if he likes to press, and if he thinks the personnel on this roster would lend itself to doing that. |

Will the defense be primarily man or some zone depending on the opposition and matchups?

I have been told that Sports Talk with John Groce is going to be broadcast on WSOY 1340 am. Check it out from 6-8 tonight. Might also check out WDWS.

Just started listening for hour two (wrapping up with Mike Thomas). Any recap of hour one would be great to read during the commercial breaks!

Based on this, the rotation early would seem to be these 5 plus Abrams playing a lot as well as Griffey and Sam McL. That is 8 right there. We will definitely need at least 4 big men in the rotation, and that would give us 4 guards. It will be interesting to see who else emerges in the rotation, if anyone. __________________ @TomCrean: I am doing great. I have been thinking about you alot since last weekend. A whole lot. Wow. That surprises me. I am excited that Brandon is displaying enough PG skills to merit being the initiator of the offense and Myke is rebounding and defending well enough to beat out Tyler and Sam. Since Tracy and Sam are high effort guys, that speaks volumes about how Myke and Brandon are performing in practice in these roles.

I think the plan is to use Brandon Paul in the top post pick and roll scenario and let him try to get to the rim. Makes sense actually since he's the best on the current team at taking the ball to the rack. __________________ virtus junxit mors non separabit ![]() |
