Disappointed in Griff...was hoping he would take over the Blue squad. Still timid?
Great to see DJ and Egwu get after it! MLT could be another ball handler that we desperately need to spell BP and TA |

Groce has said that in practice Griffey is really spreading the floor by knocking down open jumpers left and right, but isnt sure if he will be effective if hes not getting those, and he is probably right.

Remember when we offered Jack Cooley a scholly to force griffey into a decision? Kinda makes you wish it was the opposite huh? Whatever, he's not the worst Illini to eat up a scholarship.

Looks like Egwu has made big strides since last year. He looked pretty good. Was it Paul shooting all the air balls? Could not tell for sure. Latulip did seem to handle the ball pretty well. It will be interesting to see where Gross thinks they all stand.

Thought they started out pretty rough as a whole besides DJ and Egwu. Those 2 looked comfortable out there. After the 2nd quarter they all started to play much better. Overall, they all had moments at one point or another. The ones that stuck out to me tonight were, DJ, Egwu, Sammy MC, Latulip, Rice and Bertrand. Paul didnt seem to do any pressing, which is good, but I think he looked similar last year in the O and B.
Some didnt shoot so well, but did well on the boards and did some scrapping. It was a bit difficult to watch that scrimmage though with the camera angles they were providing though, but it was better then nothing lol. |

Fun Fact: Dan - The young man in the picture you posted to our left of the man with his hands up is our current Chief.

I think we have a top 3 of Nnanna, Brandon and DJ.
Shaw is a star rebounder, once he knows what he's doing on offense he can be very good. Disappointed with Bertrand and Rice, would have liked to see both attack off the ball screens more. Both picked it up as they went though, and it was good to see Bertrand hit a couple treys. |

I think the man with his arms up is the current Chief's father.

Seems like there were a lot of 3's taken considering that one of the focuses of the new staff was to improve the 3-point defense.
