Thought since today is the day that the NHL returns, I would give some of us something to talk about to get our mind off of the Illini for a little bit. Some notable games today include:
Chicago at Los Angeles New York Rangers at Boston Pittsburgh at Philadelphia Washington at Tampa Bay Detroit at St. Louis This season is going to be interesting given the tight schedule, but should be exciting because of that fact. Every game counts! __________________ ILLINICARDINALSBLUESBULLSTITANSSALUKIS |

I was at the Blues opener on Saturday. Detroit looked pretty terrible most of the game. They got off very few shots on goal, few of which were quality. That said, the Blues looked tough Saturday night and today against Nashville. Tarasenko looks ultra smooth for a rookie.

Big win for the Hawks. It wasn't as close as the 3-2 final would suggest.

How do you figure? St. Louis out-shot Chicago 34-27, it's not like the game was completely dominated in every aspect of the game by the Hawks. They just found the back of the net more often through the first 2 periods. It's not like we got our 2nd goal in the final seconds. There was 5 minutes left. My 2 cents.

My thoughts exactly!
We don't have back-to-back home games until mid-February, and start a string of 7+ road games next week.

Hawks dominated the first period. After that the rest of the game was basically a wash.
