Friday Night Lights, while corny and overly dramatic, was such a pleasant surprise of a show for me. I really enjoyed it.

I haven't watched it yet, but I've heard good things about Bloodline (Netflix original, I believe) which stars Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler).

Bloodline is a very good drama. Command performance in season 1 by Aussie Ben Mendelsohn. Like Brian Cranston-good. Anyway, great cast, good story, great scenery. Renewed for a third season, deservedly so.

Thought the first episode of the new season of Homicide Hunter was great last week. Can't wait to watch the next new episode minutes from now.

There are 4 seasons of Luther?!? Sweet! I only thought there was the one. I need to pay more attention.

Just finished Freaks and Geeks. Now I know why my favorite TV critics have been raving about it for 15 years.

Started Top Boy. Looks promising. Definitely need subtitles. lol, bruv.

Really looking forward to Narcos season 2 and Luther season 4. Idris Elba should be the next Bond. A plug for Penny Dreadful: a very good show. Finally, another month closer to season 4 of Peaky Blinders.

When is Peaky coming back?

Just breezed through Judd Apatow's Love on Netflix. It was enjoyable enough, but it felt like it was the same theme played again and again in each episode.

So many great shows out right now and so little time to watch. It seems like by the time I finish a show on my list, another 3 have been added. I have a few episodes of Power left. Amazing show that keeps getting better. Once I'm done then I will have to watch the new season of Narcos.

But what should I watch next? I plan on getting to all of them at some point, but any of them must see tv?

Luther
The Robot
The Night Of
Penny Dreadful
Top Boy
Kingdom
The Jinx
Hell on Wheels
Sons of Anarchy

Good list. But add The Last Kingdom to it. I haven't seen The Night Of yet, only watched 2 episodes of The Jinx and 1 of Top Boy, so can't comment on them.

Of the remainder, Sons is a marathon and Hell isn't far behind. FWIW, I liked Luther and Penny best on your list. The Last Kingdom and Kingdom are very good too.

I'd second this. If you're looking long-term, Sons of Anarchy. If you're looking for short-term, but higher quality, Luther.

Agree. The long game on SoA is great, but there are some story arcs where you'll be saying "really??"

Luther's next on my list.

Just started The Get Down. Funky!

Up-and-comer Shameik Moore (From 2015's Dope) has a really cool role.

Yeah - I watched S1 and then put it aside for this very reason. Currently in the middle of S2 of Arrow and enjoying it quite a bit.

Quarry (Cinemax) starts tonight. Very good reviews.

Anyone see the debuts of Better Things (FX), Queen Sugar (OWN), Atlanta (FX) or One Mississippi (Amazon)?

Watched all of Stranger Things in about 3 days. I couldn't stop watching it. So good.

Car shows. Completely addicted to them. Some of my favs: FantomWorks, !!!!!in' Rides, Wheeler Dealers, Graveyard Carz (not the earlier version) and Full Custom Garage (Ian Roussel is amazing). Restoration Garage, Iron Resurrection and Mobsteel are pretty good too.

The personalities trumps the cars shows don't interest me as much: Counting Cars, Fast and Loud, Misfit Garage. Still watch 'em though, ha ha.

Thoughts?

I'm hooked on Top Gear (new and old cast). All girl garage is interesting too.

Can't believe I forgot about Top Gear.

My focus was on restoration. As to driving, love Chris Harris on Cars (BBC). Top Gear has its moments, but a lot of inaneness too. Another example of personalities trumping the subject, IMO (old version). New version is promising, now that Chris Evans got the boot.

Another resto show I like is Lost in Transmission. Low budget, which is a good change of pace.

All Girls Garage is VG. They go into more detail about the procedures than most shows.

I'm a huge Top Gear fan. I could pretty much spend an entire weekend just watching old Top Gear episodes and drinking craft beers.

I like wheeler dealers. Is it on TV here in the US? Or is that a netflix/amazon prime only deal? Can't say I have looked for it since returning but I do like Edd China.

Edd is the best. Wish he was my mechanic. I'd happily do a free apprenticeship with him if he'd have me.

WD is a staple of the Velocity Network. Really enjoy that they're coming to Cali for a half season nowadays.
