I have to agree with Lord Snow so far. The first two episodes have been really slow and not that interesting. Hopefully the stage is just being set for more interesting action to come.

To each its own, but I'm loving the slow burn and little details. Really building the world and characters.

On the Amazon Originals front, Goliath is getting VG reviews. Going to check it out. Can't hardly wait for Sneaky Pete to finally be released. Strong pilot, then zilch for nearly a year. Ugh.

A new series of Black Mirror is now streaming on Netflix. Haven't watched any of the new episodes, but I HIGHLY recommend it.

Just finished Penny Dreadful. Excellent, if not a little depressing. I think I'll have to go with something a little lighter for my next series. Suggestions?

I highly suggest Californication.

It's funny, I was thinking this might be the next one to try. :thumb:

My second favorite TV show of all time (#1 Breaking Bad, its amazing how cliche that is starting to sound). You will not be disappointed.

I believe it was you that turned me on to Californication. :thumb:

It was! Just glad that you really enjoyed it! :)

Today I started season 3 of Black Mirror and Luke Cage. Highly recommend both.

S3E3 of Black Mirror is one of the best of the entire series. Anyone looking for a The Twilight Zone feel will love this show.

Edit: Haven't been able to catch the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead just yet. I'm on a social media blackout (I.L. excluded) until late tonight. Hoping they stayed true to the comics.

Well, its based on the comic book/graphic novel and thats pretty much exactly how it goes, so it was spoiled for me years ago.

I, too, have read the comic, but the way it was great.

Also, if you read the comic first, I don't think you can claim anything was spoiled.

A lot of people speculated that it would be Glenn, based mostly on what happened in the comic, yet Negan's other victim on the show met a very different end in the comics. Taking Abraham out first was a bit of bait and switch since most people who know the comic figured it would be Glenn (plus the fact that Glenn lived through the dumpster incident last season).

It's important to remember that just because something happened in the comic doesn't mean it will on the show, and Kirkman's been very vocal about that. Rick only has 3 appendages in the comics (which I thought was going to happen this last episode) but is currently whole on the show. Daryl doesn't exist at all in the comics, and a number of characters in the show are very different from what they are in the comic.

Having this particular plot point happen roughly the same way as the comic--as much as it sucks for those who liked that character--sets up a really, really brutal season ahead of us and makes The Governor look like Mr. Rogers compared to Negan.

That was the cruel part. I've read the comics, and when Glenn came back from the dumpster incident, I knew they were giving fans a total mind F. Think Glenn is gone, welcome him back, and kill him for good. That said, a lot of things are different from the comic, so its not like they just follow script and you know everything that is coming. BUT, if Negan is anything close to the character he is in the comics, watch out. I don't know how they will get some of the things that guy does/says on TV.

Just finished Penny Dreadful. I never watch shows like this. Im not into vampires, werewolves, and witches. The show was still very good. Very strong characters. Eva Green, the woman that portrayed Miss Vanessa Ives was an emmy worthy performance IMO.

Eva Green: yum. Pretty good actress too.

PD was a darn good show and didn't get stale. John Logan, it's showrunner and lead writer, is on my watch list.
