Edd is the best. Wish he was my mechanic. I'd happily do a free apprenticeship with him if he'd have me.

WD is a staple of the Velocity Network. Really enjoy that they're coming to Cali for a half season nowadays.

Ah, ok, thanks. Don't think I have Velocity right now but will once I move.

Ripper Street is rather underwhelming. Finished series 1, and I only plan on finishing the 2 & 3 because when I start a show from the beginning, I need the closure. The worst show I had to power through because of this personal weakness was The Following. Goodness that show was unbearable.

Started The Night Of last night. Great first episode. I can see what all the fuss was about. Nas is in a pickle. Interesting fact, the Turturro role was James Gandolfini's (RIP). No way can the quality/tension stay this high. Richard Price is a font a great writing.

I understand your struggle. Castle, which I really liked the first few seasons, is a frigging chore to get through right now.

Tatiana Maslany finally won an Emmy (Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series) for Orphan Black. It's about time... :congrats:

Let's play poker, lol. Why cling to mediocre fare? Too many good shows for that.

No doubt. My 16 yo twin daughters were ecstatic (big, big OB fans).

Haha!

I blame it on my annoyingly optimistic worldview. Even if a show is horridly bad, I can see glimmers of hope that it will get better. Then when I'm 2/3 through the series, I feel "pot committed," to borrow a poker term. Sometimes it pays off (The X-Files), sometimes it doesn't (The Following).

Sounds like something you should discuss with your analyst, lol.

FWIW, I made it through the first season of The Following (really good beginning, then tailed off mightily). Another recent show like that for me is Blindspot. Made it through the first half of S1, then dropped it (too formulaic, too far-fetched).

Again, far too many good shows out there to stick w/pablum.

Binged The Night Of. Great stuff. Whatever's next is going to pale in comparison.

I just watched the first episode of Designated Survivor. It was my most anticipated new show of the season and it did not disappoint. I give it :thumb: :thumb:

Just watched the best new comedy on TV this fall. The Presidential debate...what a joke.

I really liked the first several episodes and then I thought the wheels fell off. They have taken the Fight Club theme and gone too far with it, in my opinion. And, I think when a show like this one gets to the point that it loses that element of believability, it is over for me.

Agreed about the Fight Club comparison. Will see what happens in Season 2.

Watched the first episode of Westworld. This has the potential to be the next great HBO show. We'll see if it can hit everyone's expectations.

I am through 5.5 seasons of Hell on Wheels. I now know how Cullen Bohannon feels going through the Sierras. Slow and tedious. Anyway, the last half season hasnt been released to netflix yet. Any suggestions? i am thinking of maybe starting either Penny Dreadful, Dexter, or It's Always Sunny.

I was pretty bored during that whole first episode. Kind of leaves you wondering where the show is going and is it even going to be worth watching.

Dexter is VG early, but is yet another example of a show that should've ended 2 or 3 seasons earlier.

Penny is excellent and at 27 episodes, not a long slog.

Haven't watched Always Sunny.

Caught Ron Howard's Beatles documentary, Eight Days a Week. For Beatles lovers, it's great. Highly recommended. It's currently a Hulu exclusive.

I have to agree with Lord Snow so far. The first two episodes have been really slow and not that interesting. Hopefully the stage is just being set for more interesting action to come.
