Alexei and Shark are the most shoppable. Turn Shark to Houston for a Top corner infield/catcher prospect and get what you can for Alexei. Hopefully Tim Andersen is breaking into the league at short in 2 years.

So Micah Johnson again?

Sanchez is a significant upgrade up the middle, and the metrics back it up.

I guess I also believe he's not a sub .200 hitter. Maybe I'm wrong and we're totally screwed either way.

I think he's probably just commenting on the fact that Carlos Sanchez isn't hitting.

Sorry to confuse, just looking at Sanchez batting average. Just trying to figure out if I can live with a second baseman who can't git his weight or one who needs to wait for the ball to stop rolling so he can pick it up. I like Micha in the line up, but he has to steal bases to set it up for the top in doing so. If when he gets back up, he needs to be a thief.

He's fast, but he's not a base stealer.

Micah's defense was not good, and he was not the only defensive problem when he was here. This team ranks 29th in runs, 28th in HR, 28th in BB, 28th in SB, and 3rd in hitting into Double Plays. Micah may not be a premier base stealer, but he swiped 84 bags in 2013, he can help this team out. Something needs to get better. Carlos needs to start hitting or its back to Micah or dare I say more Beckham at second.

Gordon's looked good at third and played an admirable SS in game 2 yesterday. Plus he's hitting decent. On one hand I almost want to say Robin doesn't want to put him back at 2B, as it might look like a case of, "So what the hell did you trade him for last year?" On the other hand though, the change in scenery out west may have done him some good.

What I DO know this year is this. Micah comes up? Almost a guarantied out. Sanchez comes up? Just a little more hope than with Micah. Beckham comes up? There's a damn good chance he'll get the job done. JMHO...

I always had a feeling you were Hawk Harrelson in disguise but now I'm absolutely positive.

You must be watching different at bats from everyone else. Micah the guarantied out is hitting .270. Sanchez who gives you more hope is at .163 and Gordon is hitting .254 in a platoon role with the majority of his success against righties.

.270 for Johnson...and how many were basically squibbers and ground balls "hit where they ain't"? Bunts? Whatever, you need a sac fly, ain't gonna get it. Need him to drive the ball, ain't gonna get it. If his ".270 average" was so important, than his fielding miscues and base running miscues would have been over looked. But to me, his .270 was on a bunch of wimpy hit balls that he got lucky because he's fast.

And if anybody saw that last single by Carter that Gillespie didn't come up with, well....if you watched the last 10 games or so, Beckham would have scarfed it up and thrown him out.

How many games do you guys actually watch, 1st through 9th innings?

Tend to agree with you on Micah. Below replacement level in pretty much every facet. At least Sanchez strengthens the defense up the middle. The metrics in terms of DPs since he replaced Micah is staggering, and it's plain as day watching them.

And Beckham jacks one, to tie it in the 8th. Micah and Carlos ain't gonna do that...

Just sayin'....

Play Beckham more at third, I'm fine with that. As far as Micah/Sanchez goes, I see the future at second base being Micah. I would rather have him learn up here on what looks like a lost season to see what he has.
