Cards option Tim Cooney back to Memphis to make room for Steve Cishek.

I imagine he needs regular starts at this point but I think he should only be renting, not buying, in TN.

And when that time comes, I hope he is received with open arms. Albert gave me and every other Cardinals many great memeories. For my money, he is the greatest player I've seen in my time, and we just happened to have him for his best years in St. Louis.

I'm 99.9% sure he would get the loudest ovation of any player when he returns. Maybe we'll meet them in the World Series.

Mo was trying to get Tulo before the trade to the Bluejays. That would have been a spark to the offense.

Holiday strained his quad again tonight and had to leave the game.

Really wish we would make a move. This offense needs some more pop w/ tonight being the latest evidence of that. Aging Holliday and his injuries this year just adds to that.

Not too excited about it. Seems like a left handed Mark Reynolds, but I trust Mo.

This years version of Moss, it is underwhelming, especially giving up Kaminsky. Maybe a change of scenery and we get 2014 all star Moss for this late push.

I couldn't agree more with your sentiment. I feel exactly the same way. I think the fans knew what they had with Albert and really appreciated it. And when it came down to signing a new contract, most cards fans including myself, felt that StLouis just couldn't make that big payday happen. I assumed he wasn't going to re-sign with StL. That's what made that championship even better. I'd cheer him if he came back to StL.

I'm with you two. Part of me was happy with his early struggles, but I have matured a bit since then. I am glad he doing better this year!

This could be interesting for us in the future. It sounds like the extra revenue will help bring in (and keep existing) big name players on our roster. I'd also like to point out from the article:

Still, the new deal will trigger a significant increase in revenues for the Cardinals, which should allow the club to continue to compete on the field and in the ratings. Cardinals’ telecasts on Fox Sports Midwest generated the highest local market television ratings in Major League Baseball in 2014, the 15th straight year in which the Cardinals ranked in MLB’s top three in local TV ratings.

This team is limping despite their record. I don't foresee them getting far in the playoffs and I'm hoping they can hold off the Pirates.

Not liking giving up Kaminsky either. We needed a bat, but we gave up a heck of a prospect for it. Going to be interesting what happens with Moss and Adams on the roster next year.

The postseason is all about getting timely hits and good pitching. We do both well most of the time. The good thing about our lineup is there are about 6 guys who could step up and be "the guy" for any 1 game or a whole series. Wong, Carpenter, Peralta, Heyward, Molina, and Grichuk all have the ability to lead the offense. Our bullpen will be good come playoff time, I just hope our starting rotation can stay strong.

Just picked up Broxton. Hopefully he can refind himself like many other relievers have here in STL

Also, the Yankees DFA Garrett Jones so that could be a potential guy the Cardinals could claim off of waivers

If the Cards are gonna put some more distance between themselves and the Pirates and Cubs, this should be the week to do it. Cardinals play 3 game series in Cincinnati and Milwaukee this week and St. Louis should be able to take advantage of both of them. Cubs and Pirates play each other in a 3 game series starting tomorrow before both have home series next weekend. Pirates host the Dodgers for 3 next weekend while the Cubs host the Giants for 4 at Wrigley.
