Calibear,

How do you rate Florida OL/DL Tre Johnson? Which side of the ball do you think he would be better at? Thanks.

I would like to see Johnson more aggresive to see on the defensive site of the ball. Also could get off better for a 3 tech. He was difficult to judge in the respect all his opponents where so undersized next to him. He has the tools to play BIG football. As OT he has fine get off thou not nasty, vvg sp, qu, burst, power and st thou s+c will time with him needs to redshirt definitely.. Would have liked to see more tape as I feel this is incomplete veiwing.
For now another member of the mid 3* 5.6 grade offensive tackle though committed unlike Cronk, Harper, and Jackson.

Cronk is the type of kid - an Illini legacy - that Illinois whiffs on way too often. Need to close the deal with him - very versatile recruit that can probably play on either line.

Another kid from St Thomas Aquinas. We are developing a good pipeline there.

What is his connection to Syracuse? It seems like if he was going to take visits, it'd be to better schools than that.

He can go there and probably not hafta compete for playing time

they are prob selling him on being their guy their premier back

RHIT,

You seemed to think Moran was a pretty strong commit. Has anything changed? (Maybe Cubit not being retained or at least not looking like he will be retained?)

I'm hoping that Moran will remain committed long enough to meet the new staff and give them a chance to pitch him.

Exactly my hope as well.

If I was in Moran's situation I would make sure I had backup plans as well. Just in case he isn't comfortable with the new hire. He has a future to worry about as well, it isn't only about the Illinois football program.

Moran really likes the staff, and has been pretty active in recruiting other players, but like others have said, he probably wants to have a backup option in the event that he doesn't jell with the new staff. I still think there's a good chance he still ends up at Illinois, but it's not as much of a sure thing as it used to be.

Makes sense. Thanks for the update!
