I'm not complaining but the fact that we keep getting recruits with an interim coach is crazy. I mean, these kids must really LOVE Illinois as a school to commit knowing full well the guy that is recruiting them may not be there next year.

I think it says more about how good of recruiters these guys are. Just imagine what they could be doing with some wins and stability with the head coach tag.

I think it proves how good of a recruiter "winning" can be, not to undersell the efforts of the coaches now, but winning makes a lot happen on the recruiting front.

James Robinson would be a great add. I read he just passed Emmitt Smith for 18th all-time in rush yards for highschool. He knows how to get in the end zone, his tape is jaw dropping but watching in person is just the same. I wonder how his game would translate to college (not good at assessing that). Keep in mind, I've only seen him twice and he ran for 200+ each game

Don't get me wrong, his tape and stats are impressive. But he plays for a small school in a conference that isn't all that competitive. I'd like to see him playing for a Rockford school in the NIC-10, not that it's a power conference either but more competitive.

You saw that Juwuane Parchman and Vederian Lowe go there. We have no problem with their level of competition.

We need another back in this class. With the 2 injuries where would we be without Vaughn? It might not be a huge need but you're counting on Dre and Reggie coming back at 100% and that's no guarantee. Moran has been tearing it up lately. Staff needs to hold on to him.

According to his Twitter, Kentrail will be on campus this weekend.

Calibear,

Wow! 5 Weeks. I hope you are doing well. I missed your comments. Because you are back, I am going to put you to work. Rivals showed a recent Hudl video of Antonio Shelton and he looked very good to my eyes. Powerful and quick. I was wanting to get your opinion. Sorry. First time poster and don't know how to link.

Also Rivals has another free article and Hudl link to Coy Cronk. I love the combination. OL and MLB. Any opinions?

Thnx!

On2long. I saw Shelton tape from jr year say 5 moths ago. Just watched the early sr year tape.
Orginally I felt his take off was too high still do but he shows he know how to skinny to split blockers. Thought he need more strength an size 25 lbs and 2 year s+ c after arriving. Now I would say he might do it in a year. I question the quality of his opponents. He tracks the ball vv-well I want to see him more aggressive and he was in senior film. VVg against pass an rush.
He had received a low 3+ 5.55 grade from me. I gave him a slight bump to mid 3+ 5.6 he could rise a tick more if his opposition was better than I thought.

I thougth was was a nasty dude vvg physical tools and a mauler. Raw technique needs lots of work feet, hands and hips all need to improve.
The picture I saw on rivals today tells me is on skinny side and needs more weight than I thought. If he is a grinder and hard worker we get something if we land him.
He got the same grade as A Jackson, D Harper from me a mid 3+ 5.6. Must say I like a ilb mentality on a mobile o-lineman.
