We have some nice visitors for the Buckeyes game . I would think some of our members here have some tidbits on them based on connections and how diligently some here check for new info. How about?

Really impressed with The qb for Dekalb after watching a few games. Derek Kyler, go watch his highlights on hudl he's going to be a player.

Shafer had a very Zook-like final season. Won their first three, lost the last eight.

Awesome news. He has some really nice offers. Very impressed with the staff and the work they are doing with all of the uncertainty right now.

Given the turmoil surrounding this program, we just need to continue to get bodies to bridge the gap between this staff and the next.

Per 247sports, his offer list is:

Colorado State
UConn
Florida Atlantic
Florida State
Miami
Middle Tennessee State
UNC
Temple
USF
Wake Forest
Western Kentucky

Florida State is the only offer on that list that is actually all that exciting, but are we sure that was commit-able? If it was, then I'm definitely pumped about this.

I love Florida guys as much as the next guy (Dominic Thiemian) but is his school known for producing talent? I'm familiar with STA (obviously). I guess Devin went to Des Cain's school, so that's inspiring (now that I look at it a little more closely).

Just to clarify, by no means am I suggesting I'm not excited for commits, just concerned that we're still scraping for under-the-radar guys, I guess. I don't exactly have faith in our player development of late.

He has plenty of good offers. UNC,Temple,FSU and Miami are pretty good offers. You could probably put MTSU in that category as well.

He has several ACC offers. I think thats pretty impressive. We are not getting a top notch player that OSU,Alabama and others are after. Thats not realistic. If he were in Illinois and a Chicago area player. He would be a high 3* player. Florida is so loaded that they probably cant get every player in that state evaluated properly.

Miami and UNC don't move the needle for you? Both could probably beat Illinois for what it's worth.

This is UNC's first good year in a while, same with Temple, and Miami isn't good.

By no means am I saying it's a bad offer sheet, actually better than I expected, but FSU is the only one jumping off the page at me

Again, if a recent National Champion is the only offer jumping off the page, and not a team that housed Illinois earlier and a Temple team that has been ranked this year for a decent chunk of the season.....

You have to really appreciate a kid giving Illinois a shot considering all the turmoil and future uncertainty with the program.
