I'm gonna say 7-11, and only based on improvement of the freshmen over the rest of the season.
9-9. We'll beat Wisconsin once (finally) and lose to Northwestern. We'll sweep Minnesota and Rutgers, beat Nebraska, Penn State, Ohio State once, and one surprise win, maybe Indiana or Iowa. Those first 4 games are going to be rough.. PLEASE beat Michigan.
I think 7-11 is a pretty good guess. Can we all agree that if Groce gets this team to 9-9 in the B1G, he has proven he can coach?
Hoping for 9-9. For the fans and the athletes confidence really hoping they show up Wednesday so we do not start 0-4. Even 1-3 sounds much better then that.
I'm still sticking with 11-7 even if no LB, I hope I'm right. Just too many 50/50 games where we could really pull out wins.

What do you think the over/under would be in B1G wins for Illinois? My guess is 7.5.
10-8 in the BIG
Black returns for the home game vs. Ohio State on January 28th.
Thorne returns for the Indiana game on February 25th.
Hill and Nunn earn 2nd team all-conference. Finke earns Freshman of the Year.
Tate gets right. JCL, AJ and DJW improve on D we make a run to the BIG semi-finals and grab an 11 seed in The Dance where we get hot and make a run to the Sweet 16.
Tourney run excites recruits and we land two post players in this class and Damonte and Goodwin commit early to start the 2017 class off on the right foot.
Based on the latest possible preseason rankings on kenpom, here are the predictions for B1G tournament seeds. Blank squares are seeds that occurred zero times in a million sims - anything else (even 0%) happened at least once.
I've done a little updating of the code that will hopefully help with predicting tourney opponents a bit more accurately. This year, I'm planning to run things with and without tiebreakers throughout the season as the results and rankings evolve, to see how much of an effect tiebreakers have at any given point. I was surprised to see the tiebreakers appear to have a non-negligible effect even this early in the season--more on that later.
