I am with you guys. It seems we are locked in to having a "pg" on the floor. Well when your pgs can't shoot, penetrate or play competent defense it may be time to try something different. I hate playing guys out of position but they are giving so little to the team it seems to be time to try some other combination. Really if they weren't pgs they would be benched long ago.

+1. JT and KL offer nothing on the offensive end and neither is strong defensively. We're playing 4 on 5 on offense. KN and MH could share PG duties, and both are better penetrators than KL or JT. Playing 5 on 5 could open up more offensive opportunities.

Are you serious right now? Look at wisconsin's overall record. They are the definition of mediocre.

You're going to look to look at a teams overall record to determine if they are mediocre? Most of those loses were early when they were trying to get chemistry as a team after losing several guys to graduation and the draft. They have been pretty good lately.

Mediocre? 2 of their last 3 games are victories over Michigan St and Indiana. They may not be the usual Wisconsin but they are not mediocre.

They also lost to Western Illinois, UW Milwaukee, Marquette and NW. Wisconsin is an NIT team right now despite the wins at home against MSU and Indiana.

Like I said, those were all early games when they didn't have much chemistry. They lost some solid players from last years team.

Regardless if people think Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Ohio St. are mediocre, they are all teams that at home we should beat. Instead we will go 0-3 against them at home. Here are their records.
Wisconsin 12-9
Ohio St. 14-9
Nebraska 12-10

And this is why you can't rely on toughness and togetherness. I don't know why I torture myself by watching this.

I actually signed up to this forum to make this exact point. The season is over. KL is a fifth year transfer. And JT is not the future of illini basketball. Not sure why these two are on the floor when we should be preparing for the future with AJ, JCL, DJW.

Or maybe the NIT is now a sign of a good team, the way we've been conditioned around here under this staff.
