The way this class is shaping up, Smith would be a tremendous fit. A versatile 3/4 with good athleticism is such a useful tool in the college game. Partner him at the 4 with a rim protector at the 5 and we'd have a really strong frontcourt.

PP must have stayed behind after Groce left for Georgia. That tells you they are making Smith a priority.
Smith is looking better and better. I'd love to have that level of athleticism on the team. That's nba potential.

Per Jerry Meyer on Twitter, Groce is watching Scruggs/Wilkes currently.
We got more of a legitimate in with Tilmon committing, staff is clearly putting a full court press on Scruggs now. I think Wilkes is more of a pipe dream.
With respect to the Goodwin stuff this morning, any school that was likely going to offer has by now. July, August, and September are more about closing on your main targets than jumping into a new recruitment even for the blue bloods. His stock is as high as it is going to get and the only decision at this point is to pull the trigger or wait very late in the process for someone to miss out on their targets and come back around to him. I really don't see him doing the later (most don't).

Ayo played up this spring as well. My guess is that the Fire 17U still have a few uncommited players and they want to highlight them. One of them is Storm Murphy and the other is probably Justin Smith.
I think they are really trying to highlight Murphy, but it's hurting other players on the team.
Somebody must have told Goodwin that if he commits to UI, his ranking would plummet out of the Top 100.

MIF U16's & U17's played on the same court in back to back games. Interested in why staff has no shot at Smith??
Well I'm still shocked he didn't jump all over the Villanova offer, but I would imagine they are big players along with us and Stanford.
