Haven't heard of our coaches following some of our other bigs. I believe Groce was down to see Kiir a week ago. Obviously we pursued Tilmon, but he missed summer ball. Really like to get Derek Culver, he just appears to be a skilled big man with all the physical tools. Ranked near 30-45 range, but he looks like a player who could develop to the next level.

Kiir is still an option. He's the perfect RS first year, and be a backup for Tilmon second year (that's assuming Tilmon comes back for a second year). He would then plug into the 5 when Tilmon leaves. Just gotta hope Louisville lands another top big before kiir is ready to commit

Only watched a few clips, but would Brandon Jennings be a good comp for Frazier?

No, Brandon Jennings, the unanimous #1 player in his class and maybe the quickest basketball player on planet earth, is not a good comp.

Kalin Lucas springs to mind as a comp. Not a lefty, but a similarly sleight of frame scoring PG with a good handle who could get to the bucket and played with a good sense of the game and a winning mentality.

Even that might be overly optimistic, but it's an upside projection.

Trent Frazier is cold blooded. Florida Elite pulls out the W. Brought it on both ends. Kid has the it factor. Going to win alot of games

Speaking of winning games cold-bloodily, here is a fun fact on Frazier that I saw the other day, that I don't know if I've seen here:

As a sophomore, the left-handed guard played a pivotal role in the team's state championship run. In the title game, Frazier drained the game-winning free throw with .4 seconds left to give Wellington a 57-56 win over Hagerty.

My, how this board has forgotten Verge, McKinley Wright, Negron and Terrence Lewis.

5 star 2019 big James Wiseman from Nashville TN with Illinois offer today. Not to put the cart before the horse, but he may be better than Tilmon. ILL

Sounds like (from our incredibly limited information), Wright isn't that interested, Verge and Negron are not major priorities for the staff, and Lewis may or may not still be in play. I'd love to get Lewis. Not sure I'd take him over Justin Smith, but either one would be a great get.

2019 PF Francis Okoro, Normal West with Illinois offer today as well. 240 lb monster.

I like them too, especially Verge and Lewis. But I like a bird in hand. Aside from saving a spot for Goodwin, I'm not married to anybody. I hate the idea waiting and missing out as long as someone doesn't feel like a reach. Just my view.

I'm not saying Frazier is ours, but it feels like there's some great momentum for us, like his stock is exploding, it's the most important remaining position to me, so I would love to see that lead to a commitment regardless of our other targets.

What's there to say?

Exactly. Nothings going to happen with verge's recuitment until coaches feel confident in his ability to qualify academically. Negron and wright don't seem to be high priorities based on the current commits, remaining scholarships, and what games the staff show up at. Lewis seems to be cooling on us, and less of a priority (rightfully so) than Goodwin, although it does seem that Groce flew up to see him last weekend.

I pine for Lewis daily. The others, not so much.

This may be perceived as blasphemy, but if Goodwin doesn't want to commit and Lewis does, I hope we take that commitment.
